I'd like to make a gsd for the Tower of Chaos. Mainly, to learn how to make gsd's to scale with the pdf, and do something productive at the same time. Is it as simple as copying the page, converting the image to a jpg or bmp, resizing it to 8.5x11, and then drawing out your cut and fold lines? Also, how do you put the registration marks in the pdf? |

Actually, with the new Studio software, you can import pdf's directly and draw your cut and score lines directly on it. Don't print a pdf from Studio though-stinks. If you're working with an image file that doesn't have the registration marks already incorporated into it then you have a bit more work to do. Tower of Chaos (the dice tower by Pall right?) would need to have each page opened and imported into a current WWG cutting layout template. A WWG cutting layout template can be created by taking any current release that already has the reg marks on it, clearing out the model image currently on it, and saving it as something like WWG Blank Template. Then drop a new image into the cutting space on the template. FYI, ToC will overlap outside of the cutting area and you'll need to decide if you want to rescale the images before dropping them to make a smaller tower that'll fit. Save each page with a new name as you go. This part is done using you're image editing software. You'll also need a blank WWG GSD/Studio template. Same idea; open the gsd file for a current release, clear out the old cutting lines, save as WWG Blank Cutting Template That I Made Myself. Now everything matches and you're ready to start importing, editing, and tracing. Have fun! |
