I am very excited to say that my Silhouette SD arrived today. I just unboxed it and decided to post some pictures before setting it up. Any advice would be wonderful.

Cool. 1) Take the backing sheet that comes with the SD and either wash it to reduce it's tackiness or tuck it away on a shelf and forget about it. 2) Go find the both the latest version of the Studio drivers and the last version of the Robo-Master drivers. 3) Cut out some simple things that didn't use much ink and you don't care a lot about first to check how well your printer is doing and whether your cutters alignment is correct. 4) I'm really serious about #1. Congratulations! |

I didn't read the above until too late and forgot about it from when I read it long ago. I should have been thinking ahead and purchased some adhesive spray. I will pick some up this weekend. So far, so good. First sheet was way too tacky and bent the pages quite a bit, even with me being cautious when removing the page. I removed some of the tackiness and the second sheet went great. The third sheet (first hallway I tried to cut) was off by 1/8" inch horizontally. I tried a fourth and it is off too, but this time it is off by a half inch in spots. I think something is happening mid-cut to knock the blade off track. Thoughts? Edit: Cut another one and it was only marginally off. I think it might be a user error on my part related to placement on the cutting mat. Is that likely or do the registration marks correct placement of the paper on the cutting sheet? I am limited to no more cutting tonight due to the noise level and my daughter being asleep. I will try again in the morning. |
