Post subject:  Froze up at Load Media

I got my silhouette SD back in 2009, and have gone through periods of use and neglect since then, the last was 4-5 months long. It worked fine last year.

When I powered it up last month, the display gave the standard identifier (cc330 or something like that, whatever the original craft robo model number is...), cycled the cut head back and forth, and then went straight to indicating "LOAD MEDIA" and will not come out of that. It is unresponsive to any button except the power on/off.

I tried the Silhouette Support folks but they were (unsurprisingly) not helpful at all. They did suggest unplugging and replugging a cable inside the housing which might have come loose, but beyond that all they could do was swap for a new one, and that only if I were still in warranty. Not so much...

I found a gently used Silhouette SD online and it is on its way here, but I'm loath to just pitch the old one if there's anything else that can be done to try and fix it. Any suggestions?
