Its possible that your carrier sheet's corner registration is failing. I noticed that as my carrier sheet became more and more worn (registration marks fogging from the feed rollers), the cutter started having a tough time scanning corner registration. This created sort of random cutting errors like you're describing. What helped me was to select "Load w/ Carrier" by using the left or right arrows on the cutter itself. Once I fed things that way and then did the normal scan and cut, it seemed to work itself out. |

I'm not sure I understand. When I turn the craft robo on, its little screen reads "load media" I hit enter and it pulls in the carrier sheet. I use the craft robo buttons to maneuver the thing so it'll find the registration marks. It seems to work just fine until halfway through the cutting, at which point it makes a bit of a grinding sound and suddenly fails to move the carrier sheet properly and winds up cutting off. It is very consistent about which files it screws up on and which ones it does fine on, but I can't figure out why the heck it's doing it. |

It's most likely the middle of the page has unstuck during cutting - this will cause the pieces to get caught on the metal flat bar and catch. Cause a god awful noise. Happened to me a few times before when I tried to get five changes out of the DYI carrier sheet. Hope that helps. Lord Abaddon of Wormwood |

That's a good idea, it seems to happen with the pages that cut out things like the bridge arch, and with the tackiness of the carrier starting to drop, I could see that happening. Thanks for the suggestion! |

I just experienced that problem while building my latest promos. The carrier finally lost its useful tack and caused the blade to hang-up. This can play all sorts of havoc with your registration. |

I built my own reusable carriers by purchasing plastic file folders, slicing off the cover and back page and coating them with Krylon Easy-Tack. Just be sure the file folders are roughly the same thickness as your original carrier and that they are smooth finished (not bumpy textured). Once you find the right paper placement and registration placement on your cutter, mark or scratch those areas with your blade for perfect placement. Works great for multiple passes! The down side is that Krylon is toxic as hell and I'm probably frying my brain from the residual fumes. NEED Sulky kk 2000 badly! |

This elmers craft bond is possibly better than the krylon, but I haven't used the krylon to compare. I do know that with the tiny, tiny bit of spray it takes from the bottle that if you're more than 3 feet away you probably can't even smell it, for what that's worth. The sulky, honestly, doesn't seem quite worth the crazy high pricetag. To argue that it's better for the environment.... I'm not sure that's true either necessarily. The vapors almost certainly are non-toxic, heck, it even smells kinda nice, but it only covers a hundred, MAYBE 200 pages tops before you're tossing a metal can and plastic lid into the landfil to live until the end of the time. Given how far this elmers craftbond goes, I've done at least 500 pages off of a 4 oz can (the sulky is 3.4oz) and used maybe 1/3 of the bottle. Does the Krylon go that far, you think? |
