Hi, I'm in Australia and am planning to buy a Silhouette SD to use mainly for my hobby card making. I will be looking for a machine from America while the Aussie dollar is good, My question is what should I buy to go with it in the way of spares, accessories, software, consumables etc? Any help would very much appreciated. Best wishes, Sandra |

Hi, I should have explained that I'm not tring to buy everything in one go. But I thought there might be a few things that could help me get started. I don't know anyone with a Silhouette SD to ask, and this looks like a great place to start. Sandra |

It comes with everything you need. If you're thinking long-term, you could get some extra blades. You could also buy extra carrier sheets, but it's easy to make your own - just cover a sheet of card stock with a thin layer of rubber cement. |

Hi there myself and LordAb are down under as well . Locally you can grab parts from skatz katz (http://www.skatkatz.com.au/). They tend to run about 6 months behind any currency changes so can be a little expensive. My last run of blades came from here: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... K:MEWNX:IT Other than blades the homemade carrier sheets is all you'll need, officerworks sells 250pg bundles of 190gsm card for $19, a little expensive but cheaper than new carrier sheets. I'm current;y playing around with using one of those super flexible kitchen cutting boards you see in shops for $2 but I'm not sure how that's going to pan out in the long run I grab all my matte photopaper of ebay as well, tends to work out cheaper even with postage. have fun with the cutter |

Thanks, all very useful information. Sounds like I should buy the machine, some cutters and a few extra carrier sheets and get started. Does anyone know of reputable, up to date and well priced supplier for the Silhouette SD? Sandra |

I got mine a few months ago from these guys: http://www.craft-e-corner.com/p-1437-silhouette-sd.aspx I didn't have any problems, so I'm recommending them. |

Blades are all that are needed to continue usage. Making carrier sheets has many benefits, as others have pointed out. |
