Instead of just stables, it would be great to have a whole barn-type theme...stables/stalls included of course, with the ability to make all kinds of outbuildings. |

There used to be a great kitbash for the villageworks stables to turn them into a big barn. I don't know if its still available though. |

Ok, with my Windy Inn mostly finished, I am beginning to think about the stable/barn. I do hope it is getting sufficient love now that by the time my inn gets a satisfactory roof, the stable/barn next to it gets a release. We can eat beans a couple of times that week I think. I do need a place for the animals to stay if the inn is going to be successful.

FYI - Good news: a) VillageWorks is still available through Paizo. b) Yes, it has a stable. c) It has straw floor area 'mat'. Bad news: a) Non-TLX. b) Still at the old [higher] price structure. c) The stable is more of an open "lean-to" than a full building. However, that said, the back wall (and roof) should be able to be repeatedly replicated for an enclosed building. [Caveat: Better throw them into an image program rather than cutting a whole lot of cardstock pages with a lot of waste! This tip from an experienced 'dirty-cardstocker'.] d) Creating proper barn doors will be a whole 'nother problem. |

I was thinking of using Thoumonts for the stable for the time being. It would be an open front maybe six or twelve inches wide. The top level would also be open for the hay loft with a railing and an open back. The stalls might be ok with more railings between stalls. I don't really know yet as I haven't even started yet, but I have been visualizing it in my head for a week or two. TLX is quite versatile. lol And you said to put the original in an image program. lol That was pretty funny to me. I think I have Paint on this computer, but not sure. Wouldn't have a clue how to make it do whatever it was you said to do. lol Thoumonts will have to do. |

So, I guess this begs the question. How long before we get the set? I really don't want to wait for Denny's standard "soon" answer. I would just like to get some kind of realistic guesstimation. The wait time really is irrelevant in my opinion, I will buy this set as long as the economy does not crash. In all the time I been on this site, I have never planned to purchase a set the day it was announced. The release date photos have been the deciding factor in my decision to purchase the set. The stable and TLX in the title have already put this set in my "To purchase" column. |

Nice catch, you are correct it was Menace who did the Friar sets. It wasn't the first set I built, but it was the first set I went crazy on. My Silverymoon/Windy Inn is for the most part finished. I do intend to make one of those master boards or whatever they are correctly called, for the bottom floor. Darn thing is just a bit too big to move without a solid piece to keep it from sagging all the way to the floor. lol Well, I guess I can wait until October 1st for a Stable set. Oh man, that will be so sweet. |
