I don't know if it is just me or a more wide spread thing, but I find the sheer number of options at times to be overwhelming. Is it possible for plans and scenarios for each TLX set or a combination of them just to get our feet wet as it were? Give a place to start for those new to it and give additional ideas and story to those who already have the experience necessary to build the larger setups. Scenic Encounters are a good start, and frankly I love em, but I am thinking bigger, the Burning Run is a good, but honestly I am thinking a bit bigger... aaaand I think I am getting off topic now. regardless of my absent minded rambling, Floor plans or other environmental set ups. yay or nay? |

I am always inspired most by other people's builds. Check out if you haven't before. It is nice and categorized. If you see something is missing, make sure and make note of it so that one of us mods can update it. |

K4g3ryu, I pretty much build to fit what I need for my game. I learned long ago that what I build in terrain isn't going to fit the map that is drawn. Game cartographers don't seem to think on how to build it IRL. Everything I build, based on a map, tends to get changed. With that in mind, ask yourself what purpose you are building scenery? Is it for a tabletop roleplaying game? Or a tactical battles game? or just for fun? With that in mind, you should be able to get an idea of where to start. If for a RPG, try picking something small for the adventure you are running to build. An inn. a section of a dungeon. Don't concentrate on everything...narrow it down to something small. I usually start with the area that the 'boss battle' will occur. That's the one that is going to be really memorable. And odds are, if you build that, with TLX, you will be able to break it down and build some of the other places in the adventure. For a tactical battle, you could start by planning out the entire table, but that is pretty daunting for someone just getting into card models. Again, start small. Build a couple buildings for your table. What exactly you build will depend on the genre you play. Once you have built a couple small things, you will start thinking bigger. |
