Seconding the triangular floors option. 
We need to build in more than just squares. We need to be able to build places with angles. As for the geometry: triangular tiles work (round the linxtabs) just fine in 3"x3" and 6"x6" sizes. Just need a way to mounting external balconies. |

Possibly with a single long (wide?) slot and tab so that it is not mistaken for the smaller tabs on regular tiles. The Auld Grump |

Agreed on the triangular floors. Obviously this could go on and on with all shapes, but I think adding triangles (and associated parts) is great step and will increase the flexibility of designs and offer a cleaner end product. |

Putting a tab slot on the long edge would also allow you to connect a pair of triangle tiles. This could be useful for things such as the octagonal tower, you could use an interior triangle tile on one side, and an exterior triangle on the other side for a courtyard. I second the different sized tab format as well, it would make it much easier to quickly separate angled balconies from straight balconies. If placed correctly you should be able to place them so you can use one long balcony on a 6" tile's diagonal, or two 3" diagonal balconies. Storage should be easy too, a pair of triangle will stack cleanly with the regular square tiles. |

With a Herculean effort of will (and a minor abuse of Moderator powers) I rend the very ether itself to split this discussion off into its own topic. 
Thoumont's TLX could also really benefit from triangular floor tiles, as could Lost Halls. The Auld Grump, who did take it outside.

Sure looks like triangle-specific anchors could work great. That would help keep the triangle pieces simple and therefore make then simpler to build too. |

Particularly on upper levels of Titan or Thoumonts I have to agree with Matt. Having to put multiple triangle tiles together would just seem silly. If I want a triangular point on my ship, I don't want to have to have something else sticking off into space to support the posts. Else why not just use square tiles? |

A squarish nub at the corners would...sort of work, but also be a pain for layouts.. Maybe have the post anchor flaps fold down the corner edges? They would be shorter, but better than using one anchor flap per post, and you could still have a long flap on top pointing towards the center of the triangle. |
