ok the question is simple: from a standard foamcore sheet of 50x70 cm how many 6x6 3x3 6x3 tiles can i build? roughly... handcutted not with a robocutter!^^ also... it's wiser to cut them one by one or planning the entire sheet of foamcore? with the second option i think i'll be able to keep the spare parts because they should fit exactly for the connectors (or maybe they'll need a bit of trimming to ensure they are a little smaller than the receiving slot). my math says i could build 9 6x6 and 18 3x3 out of a single sheet (i can exchange up to 12 3x3 for up to 3 6x6) using 45.72x68,58 cm of the avaiable surface. is it right? or the foamcore doesn't allow precise cutting? |

the second question is looking at this picture... how would build the 2 house complex (they can be exactly simmetrical) using the thoumont set? i think the L shape can be made with 4 6x6 for the long side and 1 6x6 and 2 3x3 for the short one! all doubled for the roof supports and doubled again for the second L for a total of 20 6x6 and 8 3x3 tlx foamcore sheets right? i don't have the planner i will buy it if i start building this thing but i have to figure out if i can store them before starting! |

6" = 15cm so in a 50cmX70cm sheet you could get a maximum of 12 6"x6" templates worth of tiles (45cm x 60cm). If you were REALLY precise with your cutting you could tape the scrap foamcore together to create a strip 15cm wide and get at least 3 more 3"x6" sections but that can be really tricky. |
