I apologize if this is the millionth time this has been asked, but I am trying to find a cutter that works well for TLX I found and was hoping that it was compatible. I can tell it's not the Cameo model which I have read has some issues. Through further research I found which appears to be the same cutter from the same seller, but it says it is made by Graphtec and not Quickcutz. Is this the same model and if not is it compatible with TLX? |

Graphtec makes it and sells it, Silhouette sells it, rebadged. The SD works fine with TLX. |

SD is the reliable one. I highly recommend you go a head and order one of the new blades. While the old 3 cap one works, the new dial type is so much better for getting the right cut depth. |

I'm pretty new to this so I'm not sure if there are multiple types of blades. Could you link me to some information about what I need? |

Basically the SD comes with a cutting blade that has 3 colour heads, depending on what you cut as to the colour used. Silhouette has just changed it's cutter to a dial blade. A better option and the only replacement you can get. I could not find any info on their site but I have seen info about it here on this site under papercutter craft. Have a read through that section for a fantastic heads up in information. Infact I believe this post should be under that header.....mods your decision. I agree with "ehisey" go with the SD if you can, there are a few cameo problems to sort out. Also get the latest silhouette software when you load, it has both blades in it's options to cut. |

As Haydn said, Silhouette has changed blades. The good news is that the Silhouette Studio software supports the dial-a-setting blade (in fact, the software will TELL you what setting to make depending on what you are cutting, which is cool). Even if your SD comes with the old blade cap system, I recommend you buy a new dial-a-setting blade. Alexio (I like the SD so much I bought a second one after the first one died on me) |
