With the discount I finally bought the Feisty Friar. But, there was no cutfile for the Feisty Friar staircase (Page 1, 1"). So I looked in the GSD repository, and none of the staircase files in the "Generic Props" collection fit either. Does anyone know where the the correct cutfiles are? |

Also - where are the instructions for building the staircases? I don't see them in the "generic" instructions or in the Feisty Friar instructions. |

I hacked something together out of the existing available stairs GSD files. Until the official version comes along, I've attached the .studio file version. [Well, I tried to attach the .studio file, but the BBS wouldn't let me because the extension is prohibited.] Here's a link to the file. I'll host it until we get the real files: NOTE: I made this out of the pieces already available from the freely available GSD archives. This is not a kitbash and contains no new geometry. |

Note: It looks like there is an error in a few the Feisty Friar Prop/Staircase files' registration marks. The lower left corner does not align with the upper left corner (off by more than .01 of an inch.) This is impossible to completely compensate for without removing the registration marks and printing from within Studio. If you use these cutfiles on pre-printed sheets, you will see some minor drift. Easy to cover with edging, but hey, the error is in the art files. I haven't looked at ALL the Feisty Friar pages - I hope it's just the stairs - but the lower-left corner reg mark is not in the right place in the PDF file itself - it's not a problem with the cutfiles. ... I did a quick sample of other pages, and it looks like it's just the Stairs.pdf file that is in error. Maybe behind the scenes, the PDF can be patched up and re-released or something. If you're at all OK with something like GIMP, you could import the Stairs.pdf file (at 300 dpi), then import another PDF's page as a layer, chop out the bad reg marks, re-export the images and you'd be good to go. It's a pain to do, I know. Goofy idea - how about printing the kitbash template onto a plain piece of paper, and then cutting the middle out. You could then glue it to the pages you need cut and it'd cover the bad reg marks with good ones... It's a pain to do, I know. Sorry, I don't have any painless ideas. Maybe someone else does... |

There are 4 cutfiles for stairs in Thoumonts, but the two aren't compatable. |

@tatteredking - yes - there are the older format of stairs used in sets like Thoumont's, and around the time of Lair of the Dragon God TLX there started a newer, more convenient format for the stairs. However, the problem isn't the cutfiles in this case - the problem is that the PDF itself has reg marks that are slightly off from where they need to be. As a result, the cutter won't recognize the marks, and the cutfiles won't work. If I have time this weekend, I'll kitbash the Stairs.pdf and submit it, in case the powers-that-be would like a stopgap that people can use. |
