I have been drooling over the Titan sets for a while now and with the sale I feel like I have to pick up at least one. I'd like them all, but for a hobby I haven't started and may not actually be able to build for a long time I can't invest the 100+ bucks my original add everything I want came to. So, if you could have just one Titan set, which would it be? I was leaning towards streets since I am also planning on Necrobolck. My only concern is that the promo pics don't show a great area and I'm not sure how it would stand on it's own without Codename or control to fill in as buildings (or provide height) for when I'm not using Necroblock. I also plan to pick up Mars Station for sure, Field Camp, Frontier Farmstead, and Shahad Ziggurat to maximize on props. Deadmans Canyon is also planned since I think it will match the desert ground you get with the Ebbles Lab stuff. I'll also include a smattering of Ebbles vehicles too if I can't control myself. I see myself eventually using the terrain for a mix of small scale skirmish where dense terrain and heights will be the norm (Necroblock and Canyons) and 40k where I won't need nearly as much. |

Hey, ClausLars! What you'll be wanting to get is of course dependent upon what you percieve your needs to be. If you'll be doing mainly outdoor scenes, then Streets is definitely a must. And the tiles are in *both* anchor and anchor-less versions (a plus!). Granted there are only a few walls, and they are solid concrete befitting traffic tunnels - or "trench traffic" set below the "sidewalk level". Codename Titan (the basic 'interior' set) has only one 6x6 floor tile (anchor style), a couple 3x6 hallways, and several 3x3 with variances in the little red light guide walkways. But its strength is its Walls! Lots of them - all basic walls, some with doors/windows. Control has a far greater variety of floors, additional walls (some with windows or monitors), and console props. Both Codename and Control also have angled walls. Be advised that Codename has 3" balcony supports and Control does not. I have all three sets, but if I were faced with your choice of only 2, I'd go with Streets and Control and pick up Codename later. But that's just my preference. Hope this helps a little. |
