My last game I ran out of posts for my Titan build and some of my tiles didn't have anchors, so I just started printing and decided to try to knock it all out at once.... 30+ posts and 80+ anchors later... I hope I have enough....  Now all I have to do is glue the anchors on... while I impatiently await the release of Sector Sigma

Nice workload. I usually go assembly line style like this for my builds. It can lead to a very dry experience while getting it done, since it means you can't actually build anything until the late stages. |

I've adopted the strategy of always printing anchorless tiles so that I can at least get a board put together, then I'll add anchors to them as time permits. It's not as sturdy, but if I'm doing a small build, I don't mind just resting the posts right on the tiles without anchors. I used to have a sandwich baggie filled with anchors from different sets (it helps that I have a robocutter...) that I'd keep at work so if I had a couple seconds free, I'd edge one or two. Once they were all done, I'd switch to gluing them together. These days, I spend more time in GIMP than on paper, so I haven't had the thrill of mass-assembly recently. I just finished gluing some of the anchors on to some tiles. The good news is that it went quickly. The bad news is... I don't have enough of the larger anchors made... (Hums "Anchors Aweigh" while getting ready to print a new batch...) |

There are a few hints on the large anchors... 1) don't cut the smaller ones into the one tabs and you have a larger anchor. I generally don't cut them into the single tab unless i need to. But then I do a lot of "larger" boards ie it won't be a single 6x6 square of foamboard but 18x818 or 18x6 is my typical size. So i use far fewer of the single tabs. 2) multilpe singles make a large anchor. Just like above if you don't cut them they make a larger one, if you have left over singles, just use them side by side to make a larger one... 3) Run with out anchors.... It may sound blasphemous but er i run a number of builds with out having posts anchored, some times large sections are not anchored, if you anchor in strategic places your builds still have good cohesion, but you don't need to anchor everything.... But yeah posts are annoying I ran out 1/4 through my last build so over the past few weeks i have just been making posts and should have enough now... |

I do tend to make posts like that, extras all the way around. But the anchors seem to be no problem for me. Don't they print right on the page with the bases? I don't know now, but it has never been a problem for me. |

I wish I knew someone nearby that had a robocutter. I'd have them chop me up a half a million anchors. I hate cutting those... |

The extras I have I keep in a box about the size of a shoebox. Every time I make bases I end up with so many extras. |

I use scissors for the anchors. Can't remember who suggested this (Matt?) but I find it's a LOT easier and quicker than a craft knife. Posts I try to do a page at a time - do all the scoring 1st, then the vertical cuts, then the horizontal ones to cut it out. Then edge, then glue them all, then re-score if necessary, re edge, then finish the gluing. And yes, if that sounds laborious, it it!
