I'm back again to ask questions that I could probably answer if I spent an hour digging. But I know people's habits change, I know this from reading this forum. So I was hoping you guys could provide some advice on this.
Working on my first building. I'm actually using the one Mr. Proteau laid out here: viewtopic.php?f=66&t=9971
If you take a look at the left side of the building, there is a 6x6 which attaches to a 3x3 and a 3x6. One of the roof pieces are either not going to slot into the tile, or the tile will not slot into the other tiles.
My questions are: 1) Do you guys let one side slot in, and the other hang free? 2) Do you make all the trusses slot into the floor pieces and use the roofs/railings to keep the tiles on the walls? 3) Something else you guys really like, like not using the plug in trusses at all, just allowing the free trusses you let you remove a roof entirely?
I'm also having issues with tiles and plugging them together with tabs. They simply aren't sturdy enough to remove without all the walls going crazy. Am I simply cutting the slots in the foamcore too large? Are they supposed to be sorta loose?
I'm going to be posting pictures sometime next week. My CIS gummed up and I am having issues getting my Black Ink to print. Got a response from the CIS company, they sent me some videos to clean it that will do the trick. I may post pictures before I line everything, as my game club has been asking about it.

Great questions!
I think there are more than a couple errors in what I laid out in the planner - It was just a guide. In this particular case, I would just build the 6" and 3" tiles separately - don't slot them together. I think that would get you the desired results.
I personally like to use a mix of truss types. If the tile just below the roof is not a section of the building I actually want to get into, I would use trusses that slot into a tile, and the tile would just be for stability. If you've got a longer stretch of roof pieces that really need to hold together, like multiple 6" tiles, then I'd have the ends plug in if you can. I prefer to not have to slip roof sections out of the trusses if I can help it.
TLX tiles should hold together really well. The promo build there is a little wonky - having a narrow hall tile between two 6" tiles, but even that should hold together pretty well if you lift it up by both of the 6" ends. Still, I'd probably build it so the hallway is only attached to one of the two 6" tiles, and make it removable in two chunks. Even if your slots are too wide, I'd imagine the cardstock would hold it in place reasonably well.
My Sector Sigma tiles from the Titan build came out fantastic. The linx tabs slid in with some resistance, and slid out with the same amount. I could pick up a 2x2 square by the corner and it held together. I'm not getting that kind of resistance this time.
I may have to play with my cuts next time I do some ground tiles.
I'm really surprised by how much real craftsmenship goes into this stuff. It looks deceptively easy.
