Well, I've made around 110 tiles (photo paper with Xyron magnet tape on the back) so far. If they had been traditional TerrainLinX tiles, that would be a stack over two feet high.
With MagnetLinx, they fit in a 5" by 7" file box and don't fill it even half full yet. Storage is a definite win here.
I haven't quite used my entire second dispenser of Xyron magnet tape yet, but I will need to order more soon. I'm also finally at the point that, when building the board for this weekend, I had on hand all the tiles I needed except for five, so the number of tiles I'm making per week is going to slow down. 3D props, however ... still churning those out. What I don't have is a good storage solution for walls. I like using anti-warp walls for exterior walls, and regular flat walls for interior walls. The anti-warp walls, though, take up a lot of room. I've needed to make far fewer walls than tiles, though. Eighteen 6" walls, and thirty 3" walls. I may just stick with TLX storage boxes for the walls. Right now they live in a gallon size ziplock bag to keep the dust off them.
Second floors: I haven't had a need to build them out yet, and I may not do so, due to player LOS issues when you start making multiple story structures.
And, finally ... Inter-company compatibility. It's trivial to take tiles from other paper craft terrain manufactures and cut them into 6" and 3" squares. Same with taking their 6" and 3" walls and making them stand up using magnet footers. I think that makes the point sufficiently.
I've been looking at my crates of tiles mounted on foam-core and cork-board and the amount of household real estate they are starting to take up has paused my production of more tiles...this method gives me hope though. I'll have to give it a whirl soon.
