My goal with this thread is to make a place for quick Q&A on tlinx I have, but feel free to post your own questions.

1) Do I need mounting sheets for each tile or can I reuse them? I will be using 3/16" foamcore. Will I need the extra paper for spacing?

2) How many posts will I need/do you recommend? A ratio per tile would be nice, if possible.

Yes you need a mounting sheet for each tile as you glue it to the foamcore before cutting.

The number of posts are not dependent on the number of tiles but rather on the number of walls you use. You need a little bit less than one post per wall.

No. I used 3/16" foamcore for my entire promo build. No additional "spacers" are required. All that it ultimately means is that you have some additional "play" when attaching the glue flaps to the back of the tile. It is nothing that impacts the functionality of the tiles. Just be sure to keep to that standard with everything from now on, tabs included.



As Xsara07 notes; post count and or post type depends entirely on how many walls you require for your layout and or how complex you want that layout to be. There is no hard or firm count here so just print off and build a page of each post variant to make your start.

I guess with the mounting tiles I was hoping to temporarily attach them and reuse them in an effort to save paper for other things. Oh well, could be worse.

Actually, you probably COULD reuse them if you only attached them to the foamcore in, say, the corners, but you would have to be EXTREMELY (emphasis on EXTREMELY) careful they didn't come loose when cutting out the tabs.....and of course after the first time around, you'd be using the 'hole' cutout area as the template and not the template markings themselves. Probably best to avoid it if you can, they are only thin black line images so hopefully don't burn up excessive ink, and unlike the tiles themselves you can print them on paper (or at least I did) which is pretty cheap as a rule....YMMV.

Yeah, the only other solution would be to create a wooden jig and place the foam beneath it so that you can cut around the template.
