I'm a complete newbie to this system (and WWG in general). I'm currently looking into different terrain options for several campaigns I'm currently involved in. One of the DMs has specifically said that he wants/needs to be able to construct hallways that are 2 squares wide (he would prefer 1 square). With the 1" square models it seems that TLX only provides for a 3-square granularity for all terrain.
If you print things out with a 1.5" grid instead, does that become 2 squares? While not a perfect solution, using the larger scale for everything might give him what he's looking for while allowing me to go with a much cheaper system.
I've looking at dwarven forge (EXPENSIVE!!!), Hirst Arts (time consuming) and now WWG. Are there other companies that will be coming out with TLX-compatible modules, or is it a system for in-house use only? Is the specification available online (it could obviously be reverse engineered fairly simply) or is it a strictly closed standard? There are other WWG modules that I would like to use, so I'm hesitant to go down the TLX path if it will mean being locked into a single vendor, with a single product line and no way for me to convert between.
