In my earlier we talked a little bit about railings and them sticking in the tiles during tear down. I thought I had the solution gluing the tabs to the railing backing, making it stiffer, but during a test build/teardown of Thoumonts last night, that failed miserably, and I tore a few tabs right off the trusses.
Then it struck me. If they're wedged in too tightly, why not simply loosen that up? (Right. Duh, I know.) So I proceeded to go through all the trusses I had built, and trim a sliver off of each side of each tab. And I do mean a sliver - not even 1/16" of an inch. Wow. So much easier. I printed/robocut and assembled another set of tresses, this time pre-cutting the tabs and the foamcore narrower (which was much easier than doing it to already built models, as you can imagine), and again, gold. No more sticking, but still quick stable and sturdy.
I plan on doing this on all my rails/trusses/etc going forward, and I'm going to go back through all my already built railings (ugh), and trim them down. So, if you're having any sticking issues, you might try this.
