It seems that in mylittle part of the world 1/4" foam core is impossiable to get. None of the hobby,craft and art stores have it and can't get it from their suppliers. I went online and found one place and they only sold by the case. 25 30"x 40" for $799.00 USD. So the new products are not of any use in their new format to me. I can get 1/8" and glue them together but tha is too much cost for my meger budget. So where can I get 1/4" that I don't have to sell my first borne to get?

Forget 1/4", look for 3/16" - it works just as well and you should be able to pick it up from Walmart or Target (in the stationary aisles) for a buck or two a sheet.

3/16" is the way to go. Try Dollar Tree, JoAnns, Michaels, Walmart, etc.

3/16 is the common it seems. That I can get anywhere. I just thought that it would be to thin. After some measuring it's only 5 hundreds difference.I realy do like wwg produvts and will keep using them. Thanks a lot for your input. And enjoy the building experance.

I find that if I slightly bevel the top edge into the tile toward the botom on the 3/16, I don't get any tear at the score line, nor do I get any ridge at the end, you can also "eyeball" the score line on the outer score of the tile just inside the score line and that will shorten the vertical portion to fit the 3/16 better as well.

Lastly, I don't cutaway all of the outer edge, if the flap when cut on the angled corner reaches deep into the tile, it just has provided a stronger hold.

I buy my foamcore from a framing supply store. They sell them individually or in bulk and its at trade prices. Craft stores are a rip off.

The guy down the art supply shop told me "3 16th is equivalent to 1/4".

I held the moment for a long looooong time before bursting out laughing. I dont think he likes me now.

Well the first of my tiles are going to be done this weekend. My test tiles on 3/16 look and work great. The angle cut makes a lot better fit.

Now on to doing a 100 + page game set that will cover a 4' x 4' table.
