Hey guys! I've been trying to build a good sewer layout with TLX as sort of a test to see if I wanna keep building more of it, and I've run into a bit of a problem with the posts and the flaps: They keep breaking off. What is happening is that once a post is placed on the tabs, nearly any kind of pressure to move the post side to side cause it to break of the tabs it is plugged into. I can glue them back in place no problem, no permanent damage done, but I haven't seen this issue raised before which makes me think that I'm in the minority on it and you all might have some suggestions to keep it from happening. I'm using Aleene's Quick Dry Tacky Glue, which has served me well as my favorite glue for every project leading up to this, and I'm letting the pieces dry completely overnight before I even try to use them. Any suggestions? |

I'm still using UHU Office Pen No.99589 which you can find in limited supply on various online office supply stores. It seems to hold up to normal levels of abuse. If you're happy with Aleene's Quick Dry but you need something more robust for anchors then I would suggest using crazy glue specifically for attaching them. You only need a dot of it when attaching the anchor to the tile and it will NEVER come off. |

Yes that is the major issue with my first build here. CA glue sounds really good, I will also try contact cement. |

I'm using the UHU big pen and occasionally my tabs fall off. Then I grab the super glue and with one drop they never fall off again. |

I use superglue exclusively for anchors. Period. Best practice: rough up the white area on the tile where the anchor is going to go just a tad. Put a dot or two of superglue on the bottom of the anchor. Blow on it (moisture helps activate it). Put it down onto the tile. Hold for 10 seconds, then burnish for 10 seconds. Once you do that, the biggest danger you'll have is if it shears off the tile completely (using taking a thin layer of the tile cardstock) because of undue pressure on the post (such as if you rip it hard, or something pushes on your walls). |
