There is only 1 roof style advertised in print and shipped.

Those are photos from the Beta tester builds. Different printers will give different results.

I for example can not seem to print out the vivid green that I see in my pdf for Hinterlands. it always comes out too dark on my printer (big irritation).

My TLX Thoumont walls come out darker than the photos as well.

I was just stating that the picture is misleading. That's not a good thing.

Personally, I don't mind. It will save on printing to get a shingle match.

Actually it might just be the camera settings used when taking the photo. The group shot is a compilation picture. The ones that are dark were the ones I made, the lighter ones were menace's.

You could always use photoshop or another photo editing program to change the colour. I'm in the process of getting that set up right now.

I've been doing a lot of that with the armory TLX sets. I finally just made a set of .png transparencies to make the bashes easier. I just like a variety in a city. It doesn't help if all your buildings are the same brick or same interior treatments ... not natural so to speak. It helps to make those 'hundreds of models in one' advertised more realistic.

However if you think about it and if you look at old villages in England and Europe they will normally have the same style throughout the entire village. The only differences would be Thatch or slate shingles.

True but not so much in modern cities where building material of all sorts can be delivered. I can still however reflect different time periods within a city by what was popular at the time in construction, or older neighborhoods, with small shops by changing the brick pattern and adding appropriate fronts, etc. on and on.

Yes and that works great for modern settings, not so for fantasy/historical. Shipping was expensive and to cart things over from all over would have been only for the rich or government buildings.

Although I would love to see a Thatched Roof Booster expansion!

I will however point out that Italy often had different colored roofing tiles - the clay being colored by the makers, rather than native, even in the mediaeval period. (And some still have paw prints, where the tile maker's cat walked across the not yet fired tiles.... )

Of course that was for folks who could afford tiles....

Russia, and parts of the Germanies, on the other hand, painted and dyed the wooden shingles, even in villages, as a point of pride. (We can afford stain!)

Really, it depended on where you were, and how expensive he stains and colors were compared to the cache of a brightly colored roof. And the dyes, stains, and colors were local.

Man some Italian Medival style for TLX would be great, or better yet Roman Villas!
