Post subject: | Gamma World: Best TLX sets |
I picked up gamma world and I'm anxiously anticipating my first DM role in over a decade a week from Sunday. Preparing for that has really gotten me considering what sets (focusing primarily on released and announced TLX sets) would be most appropriate for the setting. * MAYHEM: Armoury 4 / Destroyed A pretty obvious choice for ruined cities. Everything in this set is usable straight out of the box. * MAYHEM: Streets of Legend For the inevitable roads this set would be useful - mainly the Dirty set. I don't own the set but the previews make it look like the Apocalypse version is more bombed-out than heavily worn and aged - I'd love a version with broken up asphalt partially reclaimed by nature, but this set seems to be the closest. * Codename: TITAN This set is perfect for various tech installations. If only there were assembly line props (conveyor belts, large processing machines, etc)... * Hinterlands (Cliffs & Forest) No details yet on just what these will entail, but it looks like a shoe-in for the approach on the adventure included in the manual. Any primarily outdoor areas could use these to good effect. On my wish list are a 3x3 radioactive goo tile, post-apocalyptic props (the fallout series, gamma world, and being strong inspirations) Has anybody used TLX or other WWG sets for Gamma World? If so, which sets and how did they fit in? |

Check out Red Sector and the Platform Command sets in the Science Fiction section. You will find your factory stuff, and even some radioactive looking pools. They mat be what you need.Although they are not TLX, they will give you props and platforms. Let us know how you get on! ![]() |

You can do a decent job of TLXing floors from any of the platfrom sets. the PC stuff is 7x7 but cut of a line on either side and it gets it into the TLX dimensions, and you can either just put it straight onto an exsisting mount tile, just line up the edges and use some scrap for the other side to lock the tabs in place and you are ready to go, or pur it on a floor you have. You may want to look at Hellworks III the corrupted space set as it has some funky stuff that might work for Gamma as well that is very busted up and destroyed, it is a bit more "horror" than gamma world but it has nicely distressed equipment. |

Most of this is not TLX, but.... The pedestrian bridge from Mayhem Streets is more useful than you might think - snipers with some cover, firing from elevation.... Hiding vehicles behind the billboards, or cutting firing slits in them is also fun. ![]() The chain link fence in Bits is good, as is the gas station. Mayhem Industrial has lots of fun stuff. (This is one that I would like to see converted to TLX - lots of nice textures.) Much of the non building contents will not care about TLX. Mayhem Marina... more than once I have considered the tugboat as the PC's HQ/vehicle for Fallout. (And tugs are rugged - if any vehicle is likely to survive the inevitable zombie apocalypse....) The docks and tug don't care about TLX. Mayhem Rail - mmmm, hmmm, mmmm, hmmm. ![]() (Images from the most excellent .) Streets of Legend is also, well, pretty much mandatory. ![]() And, again, it don't care about TLX, but a quick kitbash with the rails from SoM can be right handy. For a subway station I would recommend Cathedrae Noctis, the brown version. Look to the Kitbash section, there are many crunchy things. ![]() The Auld Grump |
