I just noticed in v1.5 that "Hinterland Cliffs" and "Hinterland Forests" appear in the set list as "Himmelveil", not "Hinterland".

Operating System: Mac OSX 10.6.8
Java version: 1.6.0_29

I created a text area that said "Hello world". Vertical alignment of the text is not working properly, though rotating the text 180 degrees so that it is upside-down works ok.

I did this with whatever the default font was.

I tried again after changing the font to Apple Chancery 56pt, and rotation worked a-ok. I'm not sure what the default font is.

The Program has Problems with special letters - e.g in german we have ä ö ü etc.

Java doesn't find the Path of gui_images.wwz if the planner is in a folder with above said letters.

Might be a problem of Java it self - but the older version of the planner had no problems like this.

Not necessarily a bug, but an annoyance.... is it possible for wall sets to be grouped together? In thumont's I got to scroll through all the 6" walls to get to the 3" walls, I think it would be nicer to group types of walls together instead.

Also, if there is some way to make a mouse over on walls after they've been placed to remind you which ones they were (either text or graphical). Sometimes I find myself dropping windowed walls in the wrong place, or decide to change from a windowed wall, it would be good to be able to get a reminder of what walls are in place to mitigate my own absent-mindedness....

Oh BTW the being able to select what walls you're using is GREAT! knowing what exact pages you need after building a plan is a great asset.

Is is possible to widen the library column at all? The reason I ask is this:

The 'up/down' arrows are cut off slightly when opening the Walls of a library item.

Unfortunately, there's no way to resize the library panel...
I'll have a look at it, to see if I can create a resizable panel.

I've tested a resizable panel and... it doesn't work as I expected... I think I will have to stick to juste resizing a bit the left model library qo that it is not cut for long walls...

But I'm playing with a way to completely hide on demand the model library on the left or the tools on the right, to have a bigger planning zone. That could compensate the extra width to be added to the model library...

First post on these boards... and it has to be a problem.

Just, i.e. about an hour ago, bought and downloaded the planner, and installed Java. Tried to open it and get the following words in a box...

Luckily, this is a simple problem to solve, so be happy and welcome to the forum !

You absolutely need to unzip the planner into its own directory and launch it from that directory, and not from the zip as you're trying to do.
That should solve your problem.

I may add a readme into the planner zip file to avoid that recurrent problem.

Greetings. I am hoping that someone here can help.

I purchased the planner earlier today, and every time I try to launch the .jar file from its location in the TLXP15_2(1) folder, I get an error message which reads "The Java JAR file "TerrainlinX_Planner.jar" could not be launched. Check the Console for possible error messages."

I have tried re-downloading the file and running it from its original location (inside my "Downloads" folder) and I get the same message. I verified that I have the current version of Java installed, and the .jar file is trying to use the Jar Launcher program to open it. I am stuck. I have even tried downloading two Java "emulators" from the web to try to circumvent the problem, but still no luck.

Here's the error message as it appears in the Mac Console:
7:02:18 PM com.apple.launchd[1] (org.ntp.ntpd) Unknown key: SHAuthorizationRight .

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am running a Mac with OSX 10.5.8 installed, and (Apple) Java version J2SE 5.0_30.

first question : do you try to launch the planner from the zip, or did you first extract the planner into a specific folder ?

Then: could you try to type "java -version" into a console, to see if java is recognised as a valid command (the error message you have seems to come from a apple wrapper around java, but I'm not an expert with Mac OS) ?

When I download the zip, the Mac's OSX automatically extracts it into its own folder in my "Downloads" directory; the folder's name is TLXP15_2(1). Inside that folder are the JAR file, along with a folder titled "Resources" and another titled "Saves." I can see all of the files in those folders just fine (I see all of the different TLX tile sets, etc.), so it looks like everything is extracting just fine. I have tried launching from both this location, and after moving the entire TLXP15_2(1) folder into my Applications folder, both with no success.

Finally, I went into the Mac's terminal (which gives you a command prompt, similar to Windows' console), and when I type in java -version as you requested, I get this message:

java version "1.5.0_30"

So, that looks like java is running OK, as well. This has got me stumped.

One thing you could try is renaming the folder the jar is in to remove the parenthesis. It may cause some problems (but that should still launch the planner...)

Another thing I didn't noticed at first : you said you have java 1.5, and not java 1.6, so try downloading the latest version of java (though Apple provides its own version of java, so not sure the 1.6 version exists)

And finally, you can try launching the planner in the console :
go into the planner directory
type : "java -jar TerrainlinX_Planner.jar"

I hope one of those could help...

Thanks for all of these tips. Changing the directory name to get rid of the parentheses didn't change the error message I keep getting, and I verified that I do have the most recent version of Java for my machine (more on this in a bit).

What jumps out at me is the first line: Bad version number. Sounds like I need the absolute most recent version of Java, 1.6. Unfortunately, my version of the Mac OSX can only run up to version 1.5, so that is the "most recent" version for my computer. Oh well.

If this looks like the case, I'd say that a system requirement for using the TLX Planner would be Mac OSX version 10.6 ("Lion") or later, as that is when 64-bit support for Java was implemented. Those of us using the older versions of OSX (anything from "Snow Leopard" back) might not be able to use it.

Sigh. Oh well. Thanks very much again for your help, and if you have any other ideas, I'll check back.

You can try to follow the instruction given (how to install Java 6 on Mac OS Leopard).
Not sure if that will be enough, as there seems to be some restriction on some 32-bit machines...

I'm not sure if this qualifies as a bug, but I'm working on building a layout based on a dungeon in a D&D module. As I do not have a large library of components, I was planning to use the software to help me figure out what to make.

I plugged in everything, and checked the Manifest. A few items I had put in, then removed, having found what I thought would be a better way (most notably, the Big Posts, I decided not to use them but to instead use normal posts and make the levels remove). But the Big Posts, which I cannot find in the map anymore, still showed up in the manifest.

THEN, I decided to play with options, because it was new software. When I switched from the default manifest to the short Manifest Form, the posts were completely removed (which i assume is intended). The problem is that I realized quickly that I needed to know my post count, so I turned that option off. But my Manifests still no longer show the posts. If I delete a post and replace it, it shows up in the manifest now, but since I'm building a rather large dungeon I thought I;d ask here if there was a way to get the manifest data back.

I have restarted the program, reloaded the file, etc. The post data is gone from the manifest.

My next solution was to read the help file. It suggested that if I saved an image of the map with certain features invisible - like turning off walls, but leaving posts on, that the image would be what is displayed in the main window. So I turned off the tiles, I made walls invisible so I could see just posts, and then saved image. Image shows tiles, and walls, and everything else, as if nothing was made invisible.

I'll have a look as soon as I have some time. I think it qualifies as a bug

I've found the problem about the manifest.

Now it adds and removes correctly the symbol to/from the manifest.
It will be released short after Pharaoh's Descent (which should not be too long now, I assume).
With the newer version if you load your file, it should fix the manifest.

About image :

Making symbols invisible on the map has no impact on the export to image feature.
But in the Tools -> Options dialog box, there is a check box : "Save and print images with symbols ?"
If it's unchecked (grey), it saves and prints without any symbol.
If it's checked (orange), it saves and with all symbols.
If it's partial (dark orange), it saves and prints only with the symbols selected with the "Details" button
