Well, I got an offer I could not refuse, some fellow 40k players offered to buy me an SD if made them a Gamma level board. Forgot that a Gamma board was 8 feet long and 4 feet wide. Not to mention this is a supposed to be an in you face fighting board. I am going to try and do ti with mostly 6x6 tiles as I dread cutting out enough 3x6 and 3x3 to really make it cramped.

I would not even consider building this in one go without an SD. I have one or 2 other layouts I am thinking I might try. I'll post those also, and let everyone now which I start building. Of course since it is TLX it can get rebuilt all kinds of ways

That is an insane sized board! Makes me want to push for a huge layout of my own. Make sure and post pics of progress.

I am thinking the most impressive pic will be the stack of cut foamcore.

Try and get pics of:
-all the paper after printing, but before cutting
-the foamcore before/after use
-everything in play, but also everything packed up
-etc

Just make sure they pay for some of your materials!

You can "cheat" around the 3x3 and 3x6 tiles and still get cramped spaces.

Put the printed pages for the 3x3 and 3x6 on a 6x6 to get the posts where you want with out putting them on tiny tiles.

ie
put 4 3x3 on 1 6x6 and 2 3x6 on a 6x6 saves the tiny tiles but gives you tons of post options.

That is a good idea. There are a couple places I may do that. There are also a few places on level 4 (not shown as it is just a few roofs) were I may do that with the the 2 broken 3x3 tiles to get a stronger/larger piece.

Actually sane storage is something of a concern. I can't remember/locate if SoL has TLX storage boxes yet. Not only will I need a bunch for storage, I can use them to cut down on some of the substructure build needs.

Looking at some of the other Mayhem sets, I am thinking I may use Services to put an abandon gas service in the larger asphalt lot, like you see at some Walmarts or Costcos. Has any one done the Service chainlink on transparencies? I could make great us of that around the park and as some free standing barriers.

Go for it. I see at least 2 kitbashes in this build so far.

Cutter is in and tested. Works pretty good. Did not expect it to quite cut as much out as it did in some case, but not a big deal, just one more change to work flow. I'll get a pic of the raw material up soon, still finishing out the wall layout.

Yeah, posts were one of the things that caught me off guard at first. Glad you are enjoying the new toy. Mine has made me many times more productive.

Just finished the layout in the planner. Post and wall type, height and set for each post or wall would be real nice V2 feature for the planner.

Current count is 244 total tiles, 23 4 way posts, 76 3way posts, 172 2way posts, 198 6"walls, 77 3" walls, 35 6" rails, 5 3" Rails, 5 ramps, and 6 1" stairs. Not even looked at props yet. Going to need another case of cardstock . Still total production cost still around a $100. Don't even want to think about buying all Resin for this build. Collecting photos to post as progress goes on.

Going to break the build down in to 2'x2' squares just to keep everything straight.

Going to break the board in 2x2 sections. So while I may not get total papaer stack pictures I will tray and get stacks.

I just retired my Gamma board. It was just too big to fit in the house. I never got around to finishing my huge city fight board so I'm very interested in what your doing!

This is for a fellow 'Nid player and his wife who plays Orks and Daemons. They have a large barracks style shop dedicate to gaming.

Board moving a long. Should have pictures of the first 2x2 quadrant ready this weekend. so far have discovered I will need to add a couple more posts for weight support and going to have to get Apartments to but some solid wall in the build. That should also help with weight support.
