Good evening, I joined here this evening for two reasons, #1: to give you guys props for having IMHO the best looking paper miniatures collection that I've found online. I especially love that many (if not all) of your sets have both exterior and interiors and in my own mind at least, I needed to capitalize on my gaming by building items that wouldn't just be static models, but rather would serve to A) set a mood and B) visually show what the players were seeing. Truthfully, only your company and Fat Dragon Games are on my radar anymore because I can see using parts from each that compliment each other where the other may not have a specific piece I need, but I digress... Anyways, my blog (http://bloatedblowfish.blogspot.com/) focuses on my original 1977 campaign - Isolde-Delta, and I'm trying to use modern mixed media to capture the feel I envision. After perusing your website, it became clear to me that your Feisty Friar set will help me to build the Bloated Blowfish tavern - the very first item I designed 40 years ago, and at the bottom of my first page at the blog linked above. So, I'm going to be building it slowly and will keep you guys updated as I progress along. #2 a friend gave me an oldish cd-rom that contained 2 pdfs (Castle works and Village works) and it also had a folder with the Terrainlinx jar file (from 2010ish). After playing around with the planner for a bit, and in-between coming to World Works to check out some of the fantastic sets, on a whim I searched the forums and found that a copy of the Feisty Friar01.tlx file was available to add to the resources folder. After trying to import it, and the program subsequently freezing, when I shut it down and attempted to restart it - it gave the exact same error that a couple other threads had - namely that the jar file would not work at all. After right clicking on the FeistyFriar01.tlx file and unblocking (downloaded from online source), and attempting to reload it through the "Add Model" button, I encountered the same issue, freezing, and when shut down/restarted - the jar would not run. A second thought occurred to me, so I opened the resources folder and bingo, the FeistyFriar01.tlx file was in there. As soon as I deleted it out, the Planner starts right back up. So, the lesson here for me was, and perhaps those that have experienced a similar issue d/l the .tlx extensions from the forum proper (as you kind folks provided updates to the sets available), and perhaps they are the root cause of the issue at hand. No guarantees that this will finally solve the .jar not running, but I wanted to share my success with the community. Cheers, B.B. |

Hi, and welcome! Concerning TLX planner issues, if you're using an old version, it's not so surprising that it does not work with newer tlx files, as there have been some major updates in the file format and the software. |

Howdy and thanks! To be honest I sorta figured that might be the case. I checked and I have a very early edition, so down the road I'll certainly buy the updated planner. Still in the planning phase but I'm focusing on my Google Sketchup model of the tavern to give me size of the plot, and buildings(s). Cheers and thanks for the warm welcome. 8) |

Welcome to the forum! I am also relativeley new to this papercraft hobby, but there are really only a few publishers on the market with high qualitiy PDFs. I visited your blog and I think this tips will help you to create your 3D encounters: 1) You will love the Maiden from WWG!!! It was my first build and this pdf is really great! The finished ship really looks like on the fotos here in the shop. 2) For your windmill I would highliy recomend the Mills from the Ravenfell Set from Fat Dragon Games. 3) For your Inn, the Feisty Friar is a great choise, but you can also look at the Pubs and Inn Interior from WWG 4) If you also look for Papaercraft Monsters simply google for "Eddnic Paper Miniature". It's for free and for me the best source for real 3D monsters (beside of the dragons and demons from WWG, of course... there are no better figures on the market... just my opinion of course). And as a bonus, Eddnic actualized his download files some days ago. Best wishes! Wiesel |

If you have any thought about building the Maiden, work on it now! You do not want to find yourself rushed to complete it before your next game session when you suddenly realize you will want to use it. You will want to take your time so that you end up with a wonderful masterpiece - great for the mantle or other display. |

Yeah, it's a beast, but well worth it. I have to take the opportunity to encourage you to purchase your WWG sets and the planner legally. (ideally from the WWG storefront 'cuz it gets you all kitbashes for that set for free) It sounds like you've gotten them and the planner as copies from a friend, which is not the legal way to get the stuff. These guys put a lot of hard work into those products and have not seen a whole lot of income from it. Now, sadly, WWG has been all but abandoned as a business at this point, so there hasn't been any new sets produced by them for more than 2 years now. There are some new kitbashes that I and others have made during that time, however. Still, the creators deserve to be paid for the great work they put into the sets, so please buy the stuff that you're going to use. |

To be clear, I do plan on purchasing the sets legally, so I can have the most up to date pdfs. The guy in question sold me his gaming collection and two cds of his personal map designs and layouts. As to the Maiden build, after seeing the details, and reading reviews here, at some point I'll try and buy it and begin construction. Truthfully though, seeing the detail on the Maiden makes me blanch since I'm a relative newcomer to paper miniatures and want to start small. Lastly, I wasn't aware that the site has been/is abandoned. Hmm, just checked the main page and see 2013 for last update. I'll have to rethink my plans for using World Works. Cheers, |

I think, as long as there are Kitbashers and some fans that sharethoughts in this forum this website is still alive, isn't it? Btw: The Maiden was my first build in papercraft for a very loooong time and my first WWG build in May of this year. You need your time but I think the instructions are very clear (with one exception.... the point where to glue the transparancies on the mast... please look carefully where to place them....). I did a lot of things with paper but no models like this. Although it was my first attempt I only did two little mistakes. The first one was the false gluing of the transparencies on the mast, the second was a wrong angle of the foremast, so I can't glue the Maiden Figure on it (grrrrrrr....). But everything else was no problem at all and the pdf is great. The grafics are extremly exact and everything blends together.
