Last month I brought HV Streets and Sewers and I was very much impressed by its texure and quality. I tried to hunt for foamcore but I couldn't find any in local area. One more problem I faced that my Printer was not giving good output (The CIS System was not working fine). So It took around a month to plan what can be done.

Lastly I thought to go for compatible catridges for printouts and they gave great prints. The only problem was that the catridges only last for around 36 prints but they cost cheap also $7.2 per set for Compatible Catrides, So the overall cost per page printout was $0.2, this was cheap so I brought 5 Catridges Set and printed out some tiles, walls and tried to build.

I first thought that without Robocutter it would be difficult, but once my hand got used to, I found it to be vey easy. Over past three days I made around 20 Tiles, 30 Walls, a lot of anchors, posts (They took the most time) and one ramp too. (I spent only 2 hours a day).

After that I used Thermocol in place of foamcore which was easily available and since I won't be using Terrainlinx so it didn't hurt my design.

Finally today I was able to make a small layout so that I can see the result and it was good. Many of tiles I printed were not used in it as I have to glue them to themocol yet and hence it is small.

My Plan is create a big (huge) HV City with Sewers, Streets and Canals. In future I will also add Forest and Castle in it to make it really huge (Space is no concern for me).

I havn't finalised the final layout and all comments are welcome.

Once thing I may ask, in promo I saw three walls at the corners without any support. How is that possible as it could make my layout beautiful. Thanks.

If you read through the instructions, you'll see a section on how I created the little "3 wall" section you mention. Basically, if you have other stable anchor points, you can pretty much splinter off those points into un-anchored territory. You just need a few points of contact to keep things stable.

The only problem with not using foamcore is that when I will go for making more than one level then I need to cut a lot of thermocol to make it appropriate (right now it is .5" thick). Also there is some color variation in tiles, it is due to my printer which is not printing every tile at same color level but it looks good as having every tile similar will not look good, which street has same tiles look?


Next time I will upload the image which will have more stuffs like the ramp, post and bridge also. I glued them and just going to cut and make them ready.

I've just purchased the Streets and was worried about foamcore (don't know where I would get it in the UK) but you've given me the idea of putting the prints onto thick cardboard and see how it turns out.

Nickydude, you can get 5mm foamcore from Hobbycraft in big A2 sheets for about £4, or Staples sell it for and £3 for an A4 sheet ( ). If yuo have a look around on the site, someone has posted some weblinks which are alot cheaper.

I get my foamcore from a local picture frame supplier. 40" x 60" is AUD $15 a sheet.
