I had an issue getting this to work initially on my Mac. Here's what I did:

* Hit Control-Space to open the Spotlight finder, and typed "Java"
* Java Preferences appeared as an option. I clicked on that.
* The Java Preferences window opened.
* On the General tab (the first one), it listed the various java versions I had installed.
* I dragged Java SE 6 to the top of each list, then closed the Java Preferences window.

If you don't have Java SE 6, you may have to update. To do that:

* Click the Apple Icon in the upper left and choose Software Update...
* Find Java, and update it



Note: I'm not a Mac expert at all (we use them for development, and its the first time I've used them), but this is what I did to get the Planner software working for me today.
