Seems like this computer will wait that great times, when TLX will be large software, using own engine, sure not based on java platform, and sold in premium DVD box...

Today bought TLX atlast! Unarchived it, tried to run TerrainlinX_Planner.jar but got next error: I checked, I am using the latest version of Java. Operation system: Windows XP professional. Any ideas? |

Check that the path is correct. So open my computer double click on your D: drive, then go up the folders until you get to where you expect it to be by the picture you posted. If it's not there, try doing a file find Start->Search->For Files and Folders... Type in *.jar and see what it finds. If it doesn't find the jar file there was something that went wrong in your install and you should try re-installing it. |

Oh one other thing. I'd recommend NOT using a '&' symbol in directory naming. It may be that Java doesn't handle this very well. |

Hmm, weird. Not sure exactly what is happening. Right now all I can say is try re-extracting the .zip that it comes in. Make sure you do not change locations of the files within the folder. Changing the location of the main folder itself is just fine. If that doesn't work, try redownloading the file. If that doesn't work, well, I'll see what I can find out. Let me know if this stuff fixes the problem. |

1. TerrainlinX_Planner.jar is normally found in Windows Commander, in My Computer and via Windows Search. 2. Tried replace all folder to root D:/ to avoid folder's symbol problem. Same. 3. Re-downloaded file. Same. 4. Didn't touch anything in the directory or moved any single file. 5. I found out, that while system tries execute it, it's trying to make it through Java(TM) Platform SE binary (C:/..../javaw.exe) |

I have deleted now anything that was connect to Java from my comp. Installed new version again. Result - same error. Maybe anyone knows other emulator of Java environment? |

For me with XP (I believe Professional) and a clean machine, I downloaded Java from here: When I try to run the planner everything is working fine. Don't know if that helps. |

Sounds like the one uploaded to RPGnow is corrupted. Hopefully Denny can re-upload it there so that you can re-download an uncorrupted copy. |

At this point, I can only suggest that you re-install your Java enviornment. You can find the latest version here. http://www.java.com/en/ EDIT: Hmm... Nevermind, I see you've done that already... |

But most probably i have to reject it, because of it is really not "WorldWorks Games" guilt, that current software is not working in my weired machine. In any case, i am happy and proud that i made my own little contribution to "WorldWorks Games" that will help it do design new splendid products! Still i have a "Free Sample" ( http://www.worldworksgames.com/store/pr ... _6inch.jpg ) that i can print on different types of paper, to experiment which one is better, and then go researching the best material like foam plastic that will match this sample perfectly. Still i will try to find a solution to run TLX Planner, but in worst case i will need to use a help of my friends to run and work with it from their machines. Positive moment is, that i can work with TLX even from own flash-usb storage driver without any installations. Sure I am loosing a bit in comfort of "whole night designing in warm cozy home", but still it's a variant! Thank You, "WorldWorks Games" and all people of this community again for so honest support and so sincere attempt to help! 2 Ravebomb Probably i am using average-low Asus Notebook, and due to my environment, I cannot afford myself re-installation of system, what probably, could fix the problem. I am using licensed RUSSIAN Windows XP Professional. Due to JAVA official server, it has Russian mirror sub-site, which automatically eliminates any language-based issues. But sure, who knows? |

Install portable Java into some directory. Put the TerrainLinX planner in the same directory. Then, when you run the planner, it should use that local copy of Java, and not the system-wide version that seems to be broken for you. Really, all you would be doing is installing Java to a place other than the default folder. As long as you put the Planner in the same folder as the Java binary, it should run that local binary. |
