The new update pushed me over the edge- I just had to have the planner. I immediately got sucked in and started planning a 3'x3' build just to play around with the SoL tiles. The flexibility in SoL is staggering, especially if you're willing to get creative with the tiles. The planner is both much more useful and much more time consuming than I ever imagined. It's awesome being able to get this stuff out of your head and down on paper though, it's much easier to find potential flaws or things that wont work and troubleshoot. Anyway, without much further ado... This first level is pretty barebones. It is partially designed to be future proof; to swap that whole support system out with a metro station once we have the set (that I've just decided is coming at some point ![]() Here I wanted to play with what could be done with the 2 tile streets. They open up a lot of possibilities and options, and look a lot more natural than the single tile ones (scale wise). I never did figure out what to put in that top right hand corner... I personally think that an overpass with a railing looks too low to pass over a city street, so this layer is basically just raising the overpass up another level. Of course I realize now that I completely forgot to add railings to this level... Oh well. I guess it will be raining death onto the streets below. That's pretty much it. I want to add that I highly doubt I will ever build this. If I do, plan for about 2016 completion time (more having to do with how slow I build than how long it'd take). If anyone else wants to however... Sacretis |
