Now Maelstrom are being cruel.. I just had an email from them, and hoped that it would be notification that they finally dispatched my order. But no! It's another one of their voucher deals, tempting me to buy even more TCP stuff that I wont receive, at a slightly discounted rate

I tell you, all this waiting is a good example of why TLX still rocks


Edit: Their voucher code is SUMMER-END by the way. 17% off RRP, but keep in mind that the TCP stuff is already listed as around 10% off RRP, so with the voucher you only save another 7%. However, if you haven't already ordered your TCP sets you might as well do it now!

Still "processing" for me. 2x buildings, 1xstreets and 3xclips on order. Found another uk retailer with terraclips items in stock, I'm tempted to get sewers from them...

i think this email from maelstrom explains it all:

My order from Maelstrom was split into 2... the one that was to be send was sewer and 3 clips... and left the other 2 sets... the other day they split the sewer order again and sent only it...leaving the clips... so for now (Still have not arrived) I'll have only the sewer to play with

order 2011: streets, buildings & 4 clips......still processing

I tried to combine the orders but they won't, so I ordered 1pack of clips from wayland. So I have at least only sewers and clips to play with

on the other hand: I HAVE sewers and clips to play with

In most german shops the status is "not available" or "sold out" and prices are...well, high: 70 US $ for the boxes and 26 for the clips PLUS postage....

ArcaneMiniatures.co.uk have Sewers in stock (no clips, Streets or Buildings though) and their EU shipping is £4.95 per order so if anyone in the EU has been lucky enough to get some clips and either didn't get Sewers, or wants an extra set and doesn't want to wait for restock, you know where to go..

The problem for the second wave is tecnical (maybe you have to discuss something with the manufacturer, for bad aligning maybe?) or more financial? Maybe you have to wait to get some money from the first wave to be on a positive cash flow?


well my hopes is that wwg becomes so big that you'll actually own a printing and cutting factory and you have a stable flux of incomes so you can go for a no-stop line of production!^^

I'm not Denny, but as an outsider, here's my guess:
* As a small company, WWG has limited resources
* A new product like TCP, no matter how good it looks, is a risky undertaking
* WWG mitigated the risk by finding a partner (Wyrd) and figured out a first print run that they thought they could sell, that they could afford, and which would prove the product in the market
* The printer has a lead time (backlog of print runs) to print another set of product, and we all have to wait until more product can be printed, shipped, and distributed.

Now that they have a proven product, it should be easier to estimate how many to print, it will be easier to finance bigger print runs (if necessary), and WWG may be able to stake out a regular place in the printer's production schedule, all of which will help the flow of TCP.

And it's a perfectly normal issue of ANY small company!

if i can suggest something maybe it would be useful to get a feedback from the variuous resellers on how many preorders/orders they have in pending, since those are likely sure sells!

for the second wave i'd suggest to fulfill all pending orders and a bit more!
But again here is the cash flow issue....even if you know you could sell 100k pieces but you have to pay the manufacturer now and you'll get the money from the resellers in like 3 months you have to get a loan from the bank to cover the flow, eating up your revenues. Also banks are greedy and maybe you are not willing to mortgage all your belongings!
So... you build all the items you can without exhausting even if you know it won't be enough to fulfill all the preorder!



So here is my reasoning:
what can I do to get my tcp sooner?
buying the roll arena is a good start... more cash for the wwg means they can start producing the second wave earlier!




at least this is what i think, but if i'm wrong i don't think denny would hate me for buying some extra stuff!^^

Now my 3 packages of clips are coming to home...the sewer one still has not arrived but ! so I belive I'll not have problems with the L clips nor any clips for now

Hope the other 2 sets will arrive in time for my december birthday !

This is where the SwiftScenics and Props lines would be great, but they don't currently include any fantasy options.

The alternative is getting access to the pre-TLX sets (something Denny has talked about doing for a short period), as there is plenty of handy stuff for gaming in there. These may not be up to the current standards and take more storage space, but they have been keeping gamers happy for nearly 9 years, and are what WWG built its reputation on. (All my old stuff will keep getting used until it is replaced by TLX and TCP sets, and much of it continue even after that.)

A third option is to do what I'm doing (although I already have my order of TCP stuff): get a set of clips, several sheets of mountboard, glue, and paper, purchase the TLX sets that you want, and create your own TCP additions. Bonus points for Hinterlands, Himmelveil Canals, and other sets that aren't yet covered by the TCP system. This way, you can build what you want and still have everything compatable with TCP once you get it (you can see from my pics how well everything goes together).

here is what happened to most Maelstrom orders:

btw: how popular is TCP? How many units have you sold/produced? Are you counting how many pre-orders the distributors have unfulfilled? How many units for the second wave? Is there a timeline for new boxes (dungeons or dungeons or even dungeons )?? ...just curious...

I would encourage anyone that was unable to have Maelstrom orders filled to seek TerraClips elsewhere online. There are still units available out there, you just have to do some digging.

TerraClips exceeded our sales expectations in many ways. The speed in which the stock left the warehouse was impressive by any normal standard. Our initial manufactured run was quite large and was ample to meet the projected demand but it simply wasn't enough to cover the unexpected surge in overall demand (much larger than we had expected). Many consumers, stores and distributors came back asking for more very shortly after the initial stock was received. Its very hard to plan for something like that with a virgin product. You plan for the best but you have to be a bit conservative.

Long story short; the second manufactured run which is now in progress is MUCH larger and we hope it will meet holiday sales demands. We've built in what we feel is a safe buffer so that everyone will get a chance at owning TerraClips. Of course, the real issue is that demand could once again exceed expectations as the product further saturates the market. That's a problem we hope to have and we're more than happy to increase production to meet demand.

I can't comment directly on what the future holds for other TerraClips settings...yet

I have here at my side the sewer package.. I'll open it sloowly and apreciate every moment ... it's like a luxury to have one !

my hopes are resting on paizo now. delivery time is up to 36 days from USA to Germany. Well, I think it is a kind of personal service and they are delivering by a rowing boat...

Urgh talk about your early adopter pains! Still, I am glad the TCP line is doing so well and it certainly seems like you have a product to be proud of.

But since my FLGS doesn't have any, and Wayland, Firestorm, GFG and Arcane Miniatures (except as noted above) are all waiting for stock, I guess I will cancel my order with Maelstrom and wait to see how the availability is next year. I wouldn't mind so much if they didn't take the money for the pre-order up front

The problem with seeking TerraClips elsewhere, and the reason a lot of us went for Maelstrom, is shipping costs. Being located in the UK Maelstrom is one of the few companies with affordable shipping costs to Europe. And as it is in the EU, I don't have to pay any additional taxes (and yes, the shipping costs also fall under the sales tax of 19%)

Well, all in all I guess I have been lucky, although I'm still waiting for most sets to arrive, Maelstrom shipped most of my order last week, except for one Buildings set.

But for the future, if anyone has a better suggestion for us European customers to get our TerraClips sets, I am listening!

yep, that's the problem: there are many boxes on ebay.com, but shipping is 50 $ per box. limit for tax-free is around 30 $ per shipment
i will try to get some clips with low shipping cost, but that's it for europe

the boxes are to heavy for import, so I will wait for the x-mas wave

FRP Games (as of this post) was OOS on Buildings, but had a small stock of streets and sewers left.

I've received today 3 sets of clips... So now I've one sewer and 3 sets of clips

i've asked to maelstrom to split my order....

now i'll receive 2 sewers and 3 clips.


for the 2 buildings and 2 streets i'll have to lash danny's back with my whip of restlesness!

No idea where they're getting that date from. Around December is our target to get the second wave out to distributors before the holidays.

The 2nd wave of Terraclips is coming and in the works! But as we've learned, we're not going to make any promises at this point about exactly when it will arrive other than we're working to make it as soon as possible! At this point, any dates you hear from shops or distributors are nothing more than unsubstantiated rumors.
