I just noticed that in the frame showing upcoming projects, there are three icons next to them.....a castle (nice), a planet (obviously sci-fi), and a gear (hopefully this will be the hinted dungeons expansion).

I'm not sure if Denny is willing to confirm anything yet, but what does everyone think of the possibilities?

I like the idea of castles. It'll be interesting to see how they pull off turrets and gates and all of the fun little things that go with castles.

Dungeons will be a must-buy. If you are going to do a d&d game or anything in a similar environ, you're gonna probably want this one.

I was really hoping to see something about a TCP props release. Maybe there will be some surprises with the new sets since the first run is doing so well.

The symbols represent genres:

Castle = Fantasy
Gear = Universal
Planet = Sci-Fi

So the "castle" one doesn't mean it's actually a castle, sorry.

But on the other hand, a castle is in the fantasy genre so it's not impossible.

My guess is that it's going to be Dungeons (fantasy, practically confirmed), a Titan-esque set (Sci Fi), and a Hinterlands conversion (Universal, and I've already shown how well Hinterlands works with the other TCP releases with my kitbashes using it).
In other words, it should be a series of sets that are well worth getting, if my guesses are correct.

Ah. I get it. I didn't notice that there was another icon there with a castle (that would have given it away). That is probably the dungeons set, then.

Who knows on the Hinterlands Forest set. I would personally love that idea. I really like the idea of being able to just slot together some trees and set them around the map. Perhaps there can be little cottages, like woodsmen would live in, or perhaps some cool things like tree stumps and bridges and rivers/streams tiles. There is so much variety to nature that you could really do anything.

I will premise this by saying that I have no knowledge that you guys don't in this aspect, despite being a mod and a beta tester for WWG. As nice as it would be to have the more odd/unique sets, my money is on some more traditional stuff at first. With that in mind, my guess are:

Fantasy - Dungeon (slight chance for castle, but that most likely means new geometry)

Universal - Forests (will be interesting to see how trees are handled)

Sci-Fi - Titan -ish stuff


Now, assuming dungeon, I am curious as to what "Dungeon" means; similar to Lost Halls or Lair of the Dragon or something else entirely?

I'd like to see a not-so-square dungeon, something like Caveworks where you're not really going to stack levels, so they could look something like this:

While I see what you mean and agree, I think that there is a definite place for the more square version...and that it might even be considered the staple dungeon environment by many. I would be surprised to see caves so early, but you never know...

Sci Fi set is what I have been wanting in TCP...I better start saving now

Diagonal walls and triangular floors could bridge the gap between classic square and organic. Many of the Caveworks elements are more or less diagonals. There's so much stuff in the first three TCP releases, that I wouldn't be too surprised to see natural caverns represented.

The only thing I can confirm at this time is that work has begun on sets 4,5 & 6. It was important to us that the community knew we were busy with TerraClips production should things potentially slow down on other fronts. That being said, we've still got a lot of great material in production for our other catalog product lines and we're doing our best to ensure regular releases on all fronts.

Hopefully we can give you more TerraClips-centric info as we move closer to wrapping up production. I would beg for some patience here though as production and manufacturing complexities make this process a long journey. You definitely won't see anything new coming out this year.

It's ok, Denny. I was more interested in the speculation on what could be coming, rather than on when. It will take however long it takes to make it right, just like last time. It's just fun to try and guess what the future holds, so no pressure.
