I've been looking at all the TCP builds, both in person and on the boards and I think I've notice a big problem with the sets. They are all too similar. Because the color pallets and a lot of the design elements between the three sets are close, they sort of blend together when glanced over. The effect is that every TCP build looks... 'the same.' While the build structure varies, in the end nearly every build looks incredibly similar to all the other builds I see because there isn't any sharp differences between the walls and tiles to break up distinct sections visually. |

There was a stylistic choice at play on that decision but it also has a lot to do with medieval cities of the day and local building materials. Thematically, the 3 components (Buildings, Streets, Sewers) are intended to form a township which is built up from the same locally available building materials. That played a role in determining color palette. Don't worry, the next 3 releases won't be brown

From a "Not-Quite-Ready-for-TerraClips-Yet" Builder [still happily churning out TLX tiles], perhaps in the LOOONG run: YELLOW sand-ish textures for beaches-sand and other non-red deserts? [also applicable for American West] BLACK for those obsidian stone contructs? SANDSTONE stripes [perhaps as part of the RED? - dare we say 'sequal'?] GREEN for the Elven Forest Realms? ['living vegetation' domiciles] Oh, yeah we could go on for a while... |

Come to Bath England, or Cambridge and you get the exact same thing. All the buildings look the same because all the buildings use the same source of material. |
