Hello to all. I have been watching the WWG forums for a long time now while working on my own builds of various products. With the release of the TerraClips line, I have finally decided to post some thoughts, builds and conversion ideas.

I like all of the WWG products and own most of them but what I really love is the TCP concept. I like the idea of a modular system that can be easily printed, cut and built. The TLX system produces great looking builds but is fiddly and I struggle to get a clean edge on foamcore. With TerraClips I can purchase pre-printed and cut elements and start building what I want or need with minimal fuss and almost no gluing!

There is one drawback to the TCP system, however, and that is variety. I know that WWG have some more designs in the pipeline and I have read the many posts regarding wishlists and colour schemes. Like many people out there, I have overcome this issue in the short term (until more sets are available from WWG) by designing and kitbashing what I want by creating templates and using the sets I already own.

Converting the TLX and older sets for use with TCP took a bit of trial and error but I now have a very workable production line for whatever I need.

When I purchased the TCP sets I decided to try and build something that used almost every piece and make it workable also. I scoured the online product images and forums to see what others had done to give me some ideas. In the end I found one of Denny's promo images for inspiration and the build grew from there.

The following images show where I am currently at with the build. It is a section of a riverside town that has been overrun by bandits and monsters. It is six levels high (4 above ground, 1 sewer and 1 dungeon). It was built with one TCP Buildings set, one TCP Streets set, one TCP Sewers set and six boxes of TCP Clips. I have used all of the set elements except for some stairs, ladders and balconies. I still have quite a few of the 'T' and 'I' clips but only one 'L' clip! Need more of those!!!!

All in all, I am very happy with what I was able to construct, although it did take me a long time. I had to pull apart several sections and redo them to optimise the remaining pieces and to try and make the buildings and rooms work with the adventure it is for.

My kitbashing started with the river tiles (Himmelveil Canals TLX) and went on to the signs and banners (Castleworks Ultimate) and then the cliffs (Hinterland Cliffs TLX) and trees (Hinterland Forest TLX). I am currently working on hills, trees and bushes, carts, crates, barrels etc to dress up the exterior further.

Welcome to the forums. Always neat to see experienced builders posting for the first time. That looks amazing! This might just be the pics that convince me to play less Skyrim prior to my Saturday game and get a decent layout on the table... Also, don't be shy. I realised that my images above, and those in my User Gallery, don't really show the conversion of the Hinterland Cliffs and Forest too well. So, to remedy that I have posted a few images below of just that section. There are more in the User Gallery also.

I am currently working on some 'Clip Covers' that will disguise the TerraClips on both kitbashed and WWG published sets - keep an eye out for those!

The free standing tree in the middle is one of the first things I made from WWG a few years ago. It is printed on gloss paper, while everything else is matte. Matte looks better on the table, but I think gloss photographs better....

Looks great Callorin and thank you for sharing (and finally stopping by to post ). Interesting note about "clip covers"; we're experimenting with the same thing on this end but do keep going and let us know how it works out for you! More sets are indeed in the pipe for TerraClips but the turnaround is far longer obviously due to physical manufacturing and distribution. I think you'll see a distinct uptake in variety (and regularity) as we improve our production flow and finally get into a rhythm with our manufacturing partners. We've come along way already, so from here on out we should be seeing a lot of positive movement.

Thank you for all of the comments. I have been away from the forums for a while working on a new project. Pictures to come soon.... For the conversions I use 2mm thick black matte board. this is similar to what photographers use to put around pictures in frames. I buy it in sheets from Officeworks and cut it with a retractable knife (Stanley knife burrs the edges). This is also what modellers use to build architectural models. The recesses are marked with a template and cut with the retractable knife. I then put an 'I' clip in each recess, being careful not to burr the edges. This is done before clipping the tile to another one to 'break it in' so to speak. Once this is done, all of the clips slide on and off easily. Hope that helps
