I've seen threads where people mash up the terrainlinx terrain with terraclips. The weird thing is that they used the black clips to hold them together. I don't know how exactly they're doing that if those are just papercraft. My first thought is that they were just gluing them directly to extra terraclips boards. It's an idea I've been thinking of actually. Unless of course there's an easier way to do it. I mean I did spend a bunch of money on this stuff, and I don't want to ruin it. At the same time I'm not really using the sets that much (sewers especially, since I have a hard time incorporating it with the buildings and streets). So I thought maybe I'd print out my own tiles and glue them. I don't know how well they'd stick with the clips though, and the paper would probably rip off. What do you think? How is it done? |

Converting TerrainlinX sets to TerraClips format isn't something we officially endorse for obvious reasons. Any explanation for that process would have to come from elsewhere. |

As one of the early converters, you can find my discussion on the topic here: Long and short of it, make a template to stick the files into (walls take a lot of work, but ground tiles are exceptionally easy to do), glue to your matboard of choice (which you can find in most craft stores near the framing section - it's the same sort of material that they use to matte pictures in the frame, hence the name), and clip to your professionally-done tiles as normal. In my picture thread you can see some of the (white) 3x6 tiles I use for construction. They are laser-cut from 1.5mm cardboard, the shape isn't that complex  . On that you can paint or glue whatever you like.(No I won't post the shapefile without an explicit go from WW.) |
