And as I said before: If you buy multiple sets and even future sets that may come out somewhere down the road from now and each set had clips included, you'd end up with tons and tons of clips you'll never need.
You only have so much table space and even when you own 10+ sets of terraclips, your table might only be able to hold 5 sets max.
And so you might only ever need 5 boxes of clips. EVER! No matter how many sets you own. Because you won't be able to put up more terrain to to lack of space.

And that is the reason why I like the fact that the clips are sold seperately.
I can get the amount of clips I need and will be able to get new sets at a cheaper price because they contain no unnecessary clips..

I have to agree with this. There is a physical limit to the size of build I will produce that means that the number of clips I require will have a definite maximum.

I am an avid Dwarven Forge collector and until a few years ago they used a "bow-tie" system to connect their pieces. You always got around 50 bowties with each set. Guess what, I ended up with thousands of the things, far more than I ever needed.

I much prefer having the clips sold seperately. I have preordered 4 boxes to go with my 6 main sets and we'll see how that goes. If I need more, I'll simply buy another box or two. No biggie.

Congratulations on your products, they look really cool and I am sure they will sell like crazy. For me, it instantly fills a need for cool scenery.
I also like the creative process behind it, you clearly went to great length making these kits. Must have been quite the discussions with your wife, I guess...

A friend and I will be picking up several boxes, and also some of these clips.

As to the issue with the clips not included...sigh...who gives a hoot! You just put them in boxes and we will buy them, no problemo whatsoever.

And please go ahead with add-ons like the castles and stuff...AWESOMENESS!

The posts about clips-separate vs clips-included seem to boil down to two points of view:

1. Those who've decided they will buy multiple sets - for these separate clip boxes are best.
2. Those buying, or selling to people who buying, single sets - for these, clips-included would be better for that starter purchase.

New customer checking in here. I don't have the time to build the magnificent PDF terrain WWG offers, so I've been watching the Terraclips line with great interest. I decided to start off with a couple of sets and a couple of clip boxes. This stuff looks great!

(Oh and I like the idea of having the clips separate.)

I'm usually not much of an active person on product forums, but this time I decided to speak my mind as the occasion certainly calls for it. I'm one of the many who have hopped on to the bandwagon of preordering Terraclips. I would have loved so much to build these Worldworks stuffs earlier, but as my foremost love is painting miniatures, and I don't seem to have enough time for that either, I have been unable to realise this terrain part of my dream. Alas, dwarven dungeons and Mayhem city are likely to never manifest themselves on Shizzle's hobby table. But now! A physical terrain product that needs no printing and cutting and edging and gluing. I just buy what I need and build what I want, in the quality produced by you. Needless to say, I'm smitten.

So yeah, the point was that here is a scandinavian hobbyist who just preordered 2 packs of each of the 3 tilesets and a few boxes of clips to go with it. And who hopes to see more tilesets in the future. I don't know what to think about this little debate regarding whether it's bad business not to include clips with tiles, but I certainly keep my thumbs up and hope that Terraclips will have the bright future it deserves.

As for the debate, no one has been suggesting that Terraclips is bad business. There's no doubt Terraclips will be a hit with hard core gamers.

It's just that the potential market for Terraclips is far larger than just the hard-core gamers - so anything that will tip the difference for the casual buyer seems like a good idea. Everyone wants Terraclips to do as well as it deserves, and some think (with some logic) that a single-box (or equivalent) starter set will help with hooking that wider market.

Hi, I registered to this forum just so I could leave my comment about terraclips.

If I had any kind of critique to make about terraclips, it would be that it's driving me insane with eagerness.

Really, I think I look at the countdown every hours, then I go drool at photos and videos...

So well, I felt I had to express myself over the issues about clips coming with the product or not, and the fact is I don't think that separate clip is a problem.
the only potential problem would be with years old pre-orders (only if they don't get hinted of the change.) and compulsive buyers who can't read what's written on a box before buying it, yet complain when it doesn't contain what they tough it was... lost cases in other words.

That being said, I truly believe that terraclips is the next big step for miniature gaming since... well, miniatures.

I've personally bought one set of each, plus 5 combo pack... just to remember to buy more set (and to use every bits of those i'll own!)

finally, because what I wanted to be a short comment is getting long, I would just like to state how much I like how open, flexible and quality driven the team behind WWG is.


now I'm back to drooling...

Needless to say, we're humbled by the response so far. Just like TerrainlinX before it, we have high hopes that TerraClips finds its niche in the market. We know that there's a sizable audience out there that wants cool, modular, 3D terrain but just doesn't have the time to build it from scratch. Hopefully TerraClips fills that void and we can keep making more!

These look very impressive, I certainly would be able to use the buildings, assuming I can easily order them from the UK.

My WFB board is fairly empty and these fit the scale nicely.

5 minutes to go. I just checked FRPgames and they now have the correct box front on the site and they also have a section at the bottom of the page that specifically says the clips are needed and they provide a hot link to the clips page. Nice setup actually. Go job on getting the word out to the retailers. If you order from them and dont see you need the clips, you probably cant read... Good luck on sales in the coming days!!!!!!!

The SO is going to be working Gencon and I plan to have her pick a box or 2 up for me, with clips

She just got back from Gencon, and gave me my first set of TCP. It is the buildings set and clips. Pictures of first build to come soon.
