Thought I'd share my first experiences with you, after having received my 3 sets of Terraclip (1 of each kind + 3 boxes of clips).
First impression: where the hell do I start??!!! There's just so much option that it left me a bit blank, staring at the open boxes for a few hours without being able to start building anything!
The following day I pulled myself together and I made this out of the one box of Malifaux Buildings:
I think the difficulty to make a full 3'x3' is the thinking ahead needed to build in 3D and make it funky yet playable. Also I think with those 3 boxes it might be a bit tight for elaborate (high) builds especially with my small brain! With one box of Buildings I could do those 2 houses, one good size the other kinda smallish, which isn't really enough for a city board I guess, I think 2 boxes of Building might be better, although I'll have to try and mix it with the Streets walls and tiles, maybe that could be enough (although then I won't have enough tiles for paving the streets :$); I kinda want to wait for the next release to buy more hoping it's a city add-on for the Streets which would avoid me buying a duplicate set (but I bet you it's gonna be a dungeon, which isn't any help for a city build...
).I could have had one more floor on the second house if I hadn't roofed the houses. Roofing is a tricky one: it looks good, but isn't really playable, so might be worth skipping them (although I'd go for roof option if the money wasn't an issue, just coz it looks better).
I think it looks good, and I'm very happy with the product. It does require planning, thinking ahead, and time to build but I think the results are worth the effort; probably best used for a game day rather than a quickly put together evening play, at least until I've mastered my building skills!
