I was thinking that would be one goal, and would be at $1 million.

Now it's looking like that will be higher than $1 million (they've revealed a stretch goal of $930,000 and there is one unrevealed goal between that and the chest. Plus, others in comments have opined that the bones will be one goal and the chest another.

So, basically, your guess is as good as anyone's. Reaper's been good (that's an understatement) about keeping excitement and momentum high. So I expect the big reveal will be really big. Especially since I think they slightly damped momentum today (weekends are often slower, and they did two bigger-than-usual stretches in a row -- having said that, this will still probably be the second highest day, just not another all-time high).

As Kane pointed out, the $100 Vampire deal is probably the biggest bang for your dollars. The add-ons are good deals too, but the Vampire is insane and only getting better.

I believe they've planned for the instance should they go beyond $1M as the tunnel continues at the bottom of the graphic.

Even I had to jump in on that Kickstarter, and I haven't painted in over a decade, maybe more. But I love Reaper Minis and this is such a great deal (and I finally have bits and flecks of free time these days), I decided to start painting again. I've pledged $250 so far, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to get the paint sets so that will likely go up a fair amount before it's all over.

Ok, we achieved the second stretch goal for the day: ZOMBIE HUNTERS and the FROST WYRM.

Now the next stretch is ICONIC PATHFINDER MINIS and the JABBERWOCK.




The 7 Pathfinder minis will just add to the stuff your existing Vampire or Undertaker pledge will get. The Jabberwock will cost a little extra ($10 versus about $50 for the metal version).

So, the Vampire level is closing in on $.50 a mini? That seems like an amazing deal. I could see myself going with just that plus some paint. How much paint will all of these need? And what else would I need to purchase to start painting?

Yes, Vampire is an awesome deal by itself. I honestly don't know how much paint you'll need. My suggestion is to get one or two of the basic sets they're offering to give you a good mix. Then, when you need another color (or more of one you use a lot), spending $3.00 from time to time won't hurt too much.

These things paint well out of the box, so you don't need a lot:
* Some soap & water (good to clean the mini before painting, clean paintbrushes) & an old toothbrush (also good for cleaning)
* Paintbrushes (this is one thing that Reaper hasn't offered)
* I also recommend a sealer: I like Testor's Dullcote because it's really flat, but it's expensive. For table-top minis, getting a cheaper flat spray-on sealer is a good idea.

Really, that's about it to get started.

There are a lot of other things you could pay for: If you just want hordes for the tabletop, you might want to try the 'dip method' for painting: You basically block out the colors, then paint on a urethane sealer & stain (e.g. Minwax polyshade -- a few bucks at the hardware store).

Obviously you can buy lots of other colors, and inks, and whatnot, but you don't need them to get started.

i have to say that my painting life changed 2 times for now:

1) when i've discovered inks... i love them and i find them really easy to use

2)homemade wet palette... damn with that baby i can have the colors always at the same density wich is fundamental for me since i'm still learning (having the color that changes it's behaviour with the denisty is not good)

I just got back - wow, looks like they have been busy!

I really need to visit their Kickstarter again. Mind you, I am already at the max I am willing to spend - all that will change now is what I get.

Wet palettes are pretty danged awesome - mine is a sushi tray, a shammy cloth, and a bit of baking parchment. Works like a charm, and with the lid on the palette will last days.

I've been viewing this thread on a daily basis and have become increasingly tempted to make a pledge. I have finally succumbed to temptation and placed a pledge for $300 for the Vampire level (obviously) plus the Sophie boxed set plus extras (to be decided later but I do want that new undead dragon).

Can someone post some sample pics of what these could look like with minimal effort and skill? I have never painted before. I believe that you guys called it giving them a "wash."

And now they are weighting the odds against further advances on the Bones Kicksarter - $110,000 more to add a Stretch Goal with four mummies, then another $110,000 to add four 'Dark Heroes'.

At this point, I suspect that most people jumping on will be new, rather than folks adding to their current pledges - at least not adding to get to the next Stretch Goal.

They are slowing their horse to a trot.

Ah, well... I was hoping to see some more Frost Giants, but I like what they have so far, and now I can sit down and finalize my list.

It was explained that sine every time it goes up, that means that many more people have to get their product so every add-on is exponential. I guess that does make sense to make the stretches more...stretched.

i've raised my pledge to 331....

i got 4x copies of the fire and the haunts since i like transparent plastic!

i should try to color even those although i don't know how... sure only wash where i want them to be still transparent...
the problem is that i guess it will be a lot less forgiving!

I'm thinking some bright yellow-orange dry brush on the fire and some yellow-green on the ghosts could look VERY good.

I was hoping Reaper was taking a breather, then would start adding more cool stuff. But maybe they are just rounding it out at this point. Only time will tell, but I wouldn't count that horse out of the race yet.

I can't complain about what's in the Vampire level, I have more add-ons than I should, and the next couple of stretch goals just make it incrementally better.

I WAS hoping for some Bathalians and a Hydra, but you can't get everything!

This is where inks are your friends.

1. Wash the figure in warm water and detergent, then rinse.

2.Use a spray of either a dull coat or a matte finish - then let dry. This will help the ink find purchase.

3. Use a big soft brush and do a wash with the inks. Then wipe the higher surfaces with a clean paper towel. Allow to dry.

2a - 3a. Alternately - if you have any Future floor polish or the like - dip the figure in pure Future, allow to dry, add ink to the future and dip again. Wipe the higher surfaces with a clean paper towel. Allow to dry.

4. Add details with a fine brush.

These are methods that I used on some clear miniatures manufactured by Ral Partha, back in the day....

Wow I now have so many minis coming to me that I may never buy any more from Reaper, and that is sad I like there stuff. I wonder how many of there regular customers have used this Kickstarter to fill there cupboards with super cheep bones and may be slow to purchase any new mins.
