I'm sure the interest is due to Movie / books like "The Book of Eli" and "The Road" although neither had mutations, etc.

Apocalypse settings are hit or miss usually. If marketed well and at the right audience they work well. Of course it always helps when Hollywood helps with imaging.

Aftermath by FGU would have been great for "The Road" and "The Book of Eli". In that system you got to choose how the world ended.

I know I'll be sticking with the D20 Modern version of GW since that's what my players are familiar with. Wish I played it more

I'm going to look at the book next time I go by my FLGS, but am still not sure I'm going to buy it. A friend of mine and I are trying to find a local FLGS that's running the D&D GW game day tomorrow, but so far no one in the area is doing. I wanted to play it once to see if I liked it or not, that would also influence my buy or not buy for the book.

Good to hear that you can download the full list of mutations/equipment, would be nice if you could buy the whole set of the cards instead of going the random package route. That's the main thing I didn't like about the DnD minis. Course there was always the after market course with the minis, but I didn't always agree with the pricing!

The other thing I noticed while reading the articles about the new Gamma World was that the last version from Sword and Sorcery wasn't really mentioned or at least didn't seem to be mentioned to me. Here's hoping this latest version will garner some interest!

There are those who feel that the D20 White Wolf/Arthaus version of GW was not true to the original, being grimmer, with less emphasis on bunnies with guns.

A friend has been running it for a while now, and he is happy with it. He was less happy with the last TSR version, and is dubious about the Collectable Card version coming out under 4e. ('Cause collectable cards worked sooo well for Changeling first edition.... )

My tastes run more to Fallout, Morrow Project, and Darwin's World. (Being PA is about the only things they have in common....) The WW version of GW would do, I guess. (Not having gun toting bunnies is a plus, in my estimation.) I have run two short Fallout games using Spycraft 2.0 - which worked pretty well. I really recommend getting the Spycraft 2.0 rules while you can - the new version is going to be focused on espionage, share the gear system from Fantasy Craft (which I dislike), and much less of a toolbox - SC 2.0 is so very, very flexible.

Warlords of the Apocalypse, the upcoming Pathfinder compatible PA game by Adamant, looks very much like it came from the Mad Max mold. Kind of interested in it.
