I found this little play set going through some of my old boxes. I was hoping it would be on scale with mechwarrior. But as you can see its a bit smaller scale. |

Check the aids first. Michaels publishes a 40% or 50% off 1 item coupon essentially every week. They also take competitor coupons if you have them. |

I think that Dragons are the big winners in regards to Toys as Gaming Figures - Big is good, and there is little to throw off the scale, regardless of the size of the dragon. $19.62 from Amazon. Safari Sea Serpent - $14.23 from Amazon. Any guesses as to why I know the prices? The Auld Grump, who is rather fond of sea dragons in any event. |

Hmmm, there's got to be something that I can use a dozen skeletal dinosaurs for.... $12.85 from Each is about six inches. The Auld Grump *EDIT* Actually, combined with Halcy's army men that reminds me of a long ago convention game of U.S. Marines vs. the Invasion of the Cheap Plastic Dinosaurs. Both the marines and the dinos came in bags from KB Toys... |

Went looking for cheap minis/toys on Amazon, and ran into these: As you can see, they are pretty big - but should work well as giant skeletons - . Just over 2" tall. They... look a lot like GW skellies, scaled up. The Auld Grump |

That's pretty cool looking. I have picked up so many of their little minis in their Toobs series for animals. (I keep intending to glue them onto proper bases, but alas) I've got a bunch of their dragons on my Wishlist on Amazon, but have yet to order any. |

@Grump - that reminds me, to a certain extent, of the Dark Overlord of the universe from the old original Howard the Duck movie. |

I picked a tube of horses not too long ago and they're close enough to scale that they'll work! Keep checking out the other creatures they have at Michaels as you never know when you'll find one which will fit the bill! @greypilgrim - reminds me of them too! |

Those horses from the Toobs sets are actually what this web site uses to sell their horse mounts line: http://stuffershack.com/store/#!/Horse- ... ort=normal They buy them in bulk to save even more money. I bought them in a big bag on Amazon for about $.50 per horse and glued them onto 2" acrylic black bases and glued a little magnet on them, while that site charges $4.00 per horse and gives you a little bit of poster putty to stick your mini onto the base. |

This is the item that I purchased from Amazon to get those horses in bulk: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000VJ ... _pC_nS_ttl I think the price has increased since I ordered it a year or so ago. Honestly, Amazon has consistently increased prices on stuff to the point where it saves me nothing to order from them versus driving to Target or WalMart to buy the same stuff--if they have it, that is. |
