For the big stuff - excellent! For human type figures... mixed. The giants, dragons, and etc are great. Some of the humie gits... have flipper fingers, or no faces under their hoods. Still good for mooks, but not so much for major characters. The Auld Grump |

Thank you Mr. Grump! Do they require any special cleaning before primer/paint? |

The bones material is a type of vinyl and has a dislike of certain types of non-acrylic paint. I painted some kobolds last November and clear coated them with Krylon. They are still sticky. The bases (which are not bones material) are fine. I have painted some bones since and used matte finish from Vallejo and those are fine as well. Just something to look out for before you ruin Kaladrax or something. I also have not noticed any great loss of detail on the models. The slight translucence of the plastic makes them look soft, but painted up the look fine. You have to cut the mold lines off, they file for crap. There's a learning curve for any type of new material, but these should help some. |

I've had mixed results with Krylon Fusion. Most figures, it goes on well and doesn't dry tacky, but there are some (particularly the spongy bits on Kaladrax, and presumably on Cthulhu as well) where it just came out a mess (to the point where the paint cracked and separated over it, in the case of Kaladrax's spongey bits). |

Kalladrax I primed with the Army Painter Skeleton Bone and the wings with Leather Brown, the base with another brown (Don't remember the name off hand). Saves a lot of time on the big blokes. The Auld Grump |

Headed to bed, but was checking the Reaper forums right before doing so and see that they are getting pounded. This is going to be one hell of a ride... |

Starting slow, it took a couple of hours to hit $500,000 I actually didn't log in for a while, i'm in wave 3. Most of the pictures won't load, I actually don't know what's in the core, but I've seen enough of what's there to know it's worth getting in. I'll manage my pledge later as needed... Steve |

Oh, and it's nice to see how they've streamlined it. Only really one pledge level, you go into a wave based on when you pledge. FAQs that get to the core issues. Well done -- the benefits of experience! Steve |

i'm in the first wave of the bones 2.... i'll wait till the end to see what i should add! one thing i've learned from the previous one: big miniature are good too see but almost useless in games! (you can even cancel the almost^^) i don't need the gnolls... or the skeletons (i've tons of them) glad to see there are a lot of monsters not just heroes! |

Reaper Bones II is already over $700K on a $30K goal, and it's hit almost all the initial stretch goals (not that there's much info on those yet). Here's the direct link to the kickstarter: |

Wave 4 - I made the mistake of not logging in until after work. Th waves... seem an interesting way to prevent the bottleneck from last time. The Auld Grump |

As more companies become used to the realities of publication, I think we'll see more and more adopt the wave mentality. It makes sense - you know when the publisher can realistically push out each wave, and there's less chance of running into a situation where the entire line's delayed because you had to quadruple your base order. On that note, given that each wave is app. 2000 orders, how many waves do you all think that this KS will get to? I'm willing to bet that it will round out to a nice Dozen before everything is said and done, what with nearly everyone coming back from the original and pulling in many of the ones bemoaning the fact that they missed it the first time around. |
