Heh, over on the Reaper forum I discovered that I wasn't the only one who thought that the grey miniatures in the Greens section might be previews of the plastics. Though what one person did to this figure was a bit scary...

Thanks Grump - after reading through 22 pages of that thread I can safely say there is not pictures. It seems that the company has had the first hand painted minis back but not the factory standard ones. I think they didn't want the path of Mongoose revisited.

Want Goblins that don't look like something from WHF or WoW. Any ideas?

Having done some looking around on the Reaper page, i have to say that the first mini on the left there looks a lot like this one
and the one on the far right like this one

The second one could be 02283: Orc Spearman
third 02287: Orc Warrior,
the Skelly spear man looks a lot like 02014: Skeleton W/halberd, but made into a spear.
The one in the back row left is a dead on for 02416: Cave Troll
Think the middle one is the miniator, but it looks different than the 14007: Minotaur of the Maze or any other Minotaur i can find by Reaper.
Last one on left in back 02832: Ogre Chieftain

So ... are you saying those painted minis are painted METALS? Or are you saying those are supposed to be the painted plastics, and that they used the exact same models to make them?

If plastics, I'm a little surprised they didn't opt for a larger (say, perfectly round) base. Those figures would be rather lightweight, and the skinny bases would give them very little stability.

Then again, if they decided to use the existing minis exactly, no changes at all, then the plastic bases would be identical to the metal.

According to the posts and what others have said these are the PPM Masters.
A number are based off of, either wholey or in part of metal ones.
A number of people have said they look "look nearly identical" and it is "very hard to tell the difference between these and metal Reapers."

Ther was much debat for a time if they would be all new sculpts or based off of the older metals, from this pictures and the pics i found of some of the older metals i think they are based off of the old sculpts and tried to find the ones that they were based off of to do a comparison.

Good work tracking down that stuff, and thank you for sharing it and saving me/us from having to hunt it down

I agree with SeattleGamer that the figures will be a bit lightweight with plastic bases like those, but it looks like the pre-paint work goes into the mini, not the base, so you should be able to easily rebase them with freezer/sharp blade/glue method.

Since the photo is small, and the minis are most likely the first ones back, I don't want to get too excited about these until we see the final product. I'm sure I'll be picking up loads of skeletons and orcs regardless, but after Mongoose went through the Evolution drama, I'm a bit skeptical until I see the end product.

Aside from the skellies, I like what I see! The paint job on the skellies has no depth.
