I really like the NOVA group and the IMEF marines. But I don't want to give up on any of the fantasy minis! Interested in more of the Chronoscope minis?

The thought of painting any of the really big figures unsettles me more than a little bit. That said, so does painting the tiny ones. However, there are plenty of different sizes ranging from the itty bitty ones to the monstrous, so I figure I'll get some practice in between. But I look at Nethyrmaul and think, "I could get that ... or another 20-25 figures I might actually paint one day." I haven't settled on a final list yet. I'm having a hard time deciding between some of the dragons and more giants, more of the filler creatures, or even one more Vampire level. It's funny, some of the figures have me salivating (the big demons!) but some just strike me as meh (giant skeleton, clockwork dragon). I'm really impressed how Reaper handled the add-ons, though. There are very few minis I'll be receiving that I'm looking at going "I'll never want to paint _that_". |

I pretty much have no use for any of the non-fantasy figures if anyone wants to trade ... I like the steampunk ones and I'll probably keep those, but IMEF Marines NOVA Zombie Hunters Willing to trade any of those. |

For me: Vampire. (sans Sophie) Fire Giant King & Queen Frost Giant King & Queen Undead Giant Hydra x3 Extra Lizardmen Sets Still, that's much more than I anticipated. Nethyrmaul is standing on a giant rock, so it's actually smaller than big red scale-wise. It is a biggin though! |

Hmmm, now that it has been announced that folks will be able to add to their orders, what is likely to be added? For me... the Undead paint set - I paint a fair number of undead, and I rather like the Vampire flesh triad there. I may add more Pathfinder goblins too... and given time, maybe a dragon or four to paint and sell. The Auld Grump |

It all depends on how long we have to add to our orders. The longer it is, the more money I will have. I also need to save for TCPs, as my preorder doesn't have any money down. |

I had to sit back and just say 'no.'  I'll be watching for the pieces I want and order them when they show up. I do have an interest for Sophie on a motorcycle but I have next to nothing to trade. Just my old 40k stuff. |

I did Vampire and about $60 in extra/options. Wanted to get more, but the budget only went so far. Put in the extra $10 for Cthulhu when it was announced; if the goal hadn't been reached for him there were 2 others I would have chosen from. Like Talae, I'm going to try to add on with their order program depending on how long they give us. Already ordering Jabberwock, Ebonwrath, KaladraxReborn and DeepDwellers. Looking at picking up Clockwork, Hydra, Frostwyrm, Pathfinder Red Dragon, the dragon pair, Demons and Mythos Monsters (hey, if I'm getting the Big Guy Himself...). Maybe more NOVA and IMEF (I already scheduled ayment for 2 extra sets of NOVA). |

Hmmm, an unexpected side effect of the $10 dragons - I find myself tempted to retouch the paint jobs on my metal versions of same, then sell them off on eBay. I expect the detail to be lower on the plastics, but at the same time I expect that they will be both easier to lug around, and less likely to break in transit. Anyone else? The Auld Grump, still have six months, so there is plenty of time for me to change my mind.... |

I've always been too intimidated to purchase & paint the dragons. So I'm looking forward to these. My goal for painting most of the bones is 'better than prepainted." That's admittedly a low standard, but I'm hoping it will get me motivated to get a lot of these painted and on the board. I ended up getting 2 Vampires -- there were enough that I wanted 2x of, or someone in my gaming group wanted a set of, that once the 'trade in Sophie' offer came out, I just went for 2. With the add-ons, I've spent more than I should. But it's a good deal and for a good cause. I'm debating whether to keep one Sophie or not -- I suspect I'll trade both in since I have no need (and frankly little desire) to keep her. I'm debating whether to get 2x Cthulhu. I'd like to experiment with a celestial theme as well as the standard 'dreaming under the waves' look. Steve |

i have a question for grumpy: do you think an airbrush saves a lot of time when you have to paint a colossal miniature like cthulu or the big dragon? i've never used it but when i think about the time needed to put the base colours... my wrist aches in advance!^^ |

i've found that uhu tac patafix + used nespresso caps are fantastic together!^^ thanks for the link i think i'll give it a shot for the big minis! mmmh i don't know if priming in bone tone is good for the giant skeleton... well moer options at my disposal is always a good thing i think i have to try and see!^^ |

If there is anyone out there (is it possible) who missed the Reaper kickstarter, but still wants to get into the deal, you can submit your email to reaper: They will send you a note when the order page is available. My understanding is you won't get quite the deal that the KickStarter participants get, but you'll still get a good deal. Steve |

[heard in a Rod Serling-style intro voice...] Filed under the Life Category of "similar things happening simultaneously": Whlie we are waiting for Jaynz' Mall Kitbashes to be processed, Fabled Environments has a Kickstarter program for a 3/4 milllion+ square foot, 100 store, 2-storey mall (in their black-and-white floorplan style). Three anchor stores (one of which is detailed, the others can be customized), 4 repeating floorplans for other retailers, and a five vendor food court. They've already reached their original goal and the first stretch goal of a kiddie indoor playground section for the mall. |

The is almost done. Its turning into one HECK of a deal. I was at $150 for two starters plus add-ons, but they just added MORE add-on options, so was going to add another $20...which puts me just shy of the next level for $190. At that level, you get extra bonus figures as well as a second rulebook. The thing is, you can trade in starters and rulebooks for credit. So, what would have cost me $250 with my initial pledge became $195. Not bad, I'd say! That level gets two starters, one book, all add-ons for the two factions, six bonus models AND a stuffed mascot for the wife. WHEW! |
