There are now a number of greens available and they don't look half bad. The $100 spot is currently about $4.17 a figure, while the $200 spot is $4.26 a figure ($3.64 per figure if you take medium sizing into account) plus two free add-ons.

I'm a big, big fan of Alea Tools' magnetic markers in my RPG games, but I really don't have any interest in their new Kickstarter that launched today:

I have to say that has got to be the cheesiest, lamest video introducing their project.

Anyways, I love using their stuff in my games, but I already have enough colors of markers. Another bunch of neon colors ain't gonna add much.

I have used Alea Tools for years and love them. More colors would be handy. So would restocking some of the Self-Stick Conversion Material that I never got around to ordering. The edge marks seem handy as well.

I will jump at the lowest level with freebies for now. I can always adjust up or down later.

Using a Wet-Erase Marker on the white ones for numbering monsters/npcs is what I have been doing, but it would be nice to have something more professional looking.

A warning about the edge markers: they get dirty really easily. They're cheap, so you could afford to replace them after a while, but mine look kinda grungy. Not sure why.

I saw that one and love the sculpts. The shear quality/quantity available is astounding. I just can't justify the cost. Bones and other mini Kickstarters have spoiled me with cheap figures. Now I have tons on the way over the next six months or so and can't imagine purchasing large quantities of minis that cost more than $5-7 each.

Hmmm, a Kickstarter for an older game, a great game, a (Call of Cthulhu... rising from the depths.)

For the first time in... a long while there will be some actual changes to the rules. Last big changes were to create 5e. My own rule book dates back to 1993 - 5.1.1.... loverly hardcover, with a Chessex Dragon Skin protecting the book.

The Auld Grump - I bought my first copy in 1983....

It's not plastic (but it is supposed to be resin) or pre-painted, but for those of you that like to paint - here ya go!

I'll take a look at the Chaosium Call of Cthulhu kickstrater. However, previous rule updates have been poor, with formatting that looks less professional than the one you picked up back in the 1980s Auld Grump. Very poor.

Particularly obvious when compared with books such as Trail of Cthulhu.

Home-brewed rules have pretty much overtaken the official ones in my group, so it's quality scenarios that are more useful, rather than core rules and endless guides to wherever.

Some >ahem< mixed results in the quality of their monographs also lost them points.

One thing I'll be looking at is the need to split it into players and investigators, which smacks of being a little greedy. But perhaps, they are genuinely pulling together the best form Keeper Compendiums and Investigator Companions.

The Raging Heroes KS linked above hit the 100k $ mark in less than an hour and is about to hit the very awesome 250k $ mark in just about eight hours.

I'm happy with my Lieutenant pledge, but things seem to be about to go out of hand...

$110 level is good, but $200 level is amazing. This funded in minutes, has great minis, an actually cool shirt option and looks like a good board game. I grabbed a $200 spot and am hoping that I can scrounge enough to stay in.

That seems kinda pricey for a board game...

Thrilled that Sandy Petersen gets the success. I played a lot of the '80s Chaosium products and they are a high water mark for me in RPGing.

While the minis look nice, I'm not that taken with the map (as it stands or rather lays on the table at present). The $240 level looks the best bet, rising to $285 including shipping which is quite a lot for a board game. Looking ahead there are already 6 expansions at just under $50 each (although you get one with the $240 level pledge.

So, it's pretty expensive...

They have said there will eventually be 13 expansions. Definitely not going to be able to afford them all...

Oh dear. never mind the cost. I'm never going to use them all.

It's odd, but I'd have been better off not knowing about the 13 expansions. It's one thing to know a game will be supported, but another to know it's going to be strip mined. I've boxes of Arkham Horror that have barely seen the light of..um..midnight rituals... Likewise for Zombies. Sorry Zombies!!!

Maybe I like things more self contained, but that's unfair on the developers. It's not as though I'll need part 7 in order to really make the best use of the core game or anything. But there's always that urge to add to the investment that's already been made.

We'll see. I''ll need to know more about the game mechanics, which might help.

Looks like it's one of the very nice Kickstarter bandwagons I'll not be jumping on though.

I have very few board game expansions that I enjoy enough to warrant not having instead purchased another game entirely. I am always very skeptical of paying for them. In this case, though, the minis are what caught my eye first. I may break down and get one or two expansions due to that...
