Putting together the Dwarf Pathfinders by Avatars of War.
The material used is a resin-plastic or 'sprueless plastic', similar to that used by Mantic.
Lots of bits and pieces - in the same was as the old multipose dwarfs by GW (but with knees!).
Lots of cleaning... still not sure how I feel about the material in that regard.
The dwarfs themselves... ... ... these are some of the dwarfiest dwarfs that I have ever seen - they look like they want to grab a hobbit, and drag him off on an exciting adventure.
Mostly armed with greataxes and light crossbows, they will work well as Dwarf Rangers in Kings of War.
The package contains twenty dwarfs, and two of each of the command group bits - so that you can do them up as either a single unit of twenty or a pair of ten dwarf units.
They do not, for the most part, have a 'knife and fork' pose - instead one of the weapons will be stowed on their backs, the other in their hands. There are one or two exceptions - but even then it looks like the dwarf is concentrating on the bow, but just has the axe ready.
The backpacks on the dwarfs are the best parts... I wish that you could get them separately.
Clothing is tattered - closer to the old eighties and nineties Citadel figures than the current run of GW figures.
Floppy hoods seem to be in style.
The Command bits are relatively small - instead of a huge banner they have something like a large golf flag.
Overall... I really like them.
