The Kladrax model is great.
I like it much better than the Cthulhu model (which I would have preferred to be more alien, less human like in form - just seeing it meant to cause a sanity check).

Heh, I was ninja'd by exactly one hour!

I did get two, and have the metal one besides. :ymdevil:

Scary as it may sound - the one destined for plastic looks better - the pose is very dynamic.

*EDIT* Though for my second plastic Kaladrax I am tempted someone scritching it under the chin - it has a self satisfied look about it.

Mind you, I am tinkering my metal Kaladrax around a ruined tomb, and it is also a very nice dragon. The new one is even better. (I like it when I am satisfied by the original, but the new version is better - it makes me happy.)

I may have been disappointed by the Cthulhu, but I much more than just satisfied by what I see of Kaladrax. More satisfied by this than I was disappointed by Mr. C. So, a net win!

Downloading the PDF for Swords & Wizardry right now.

The Auld Grump, PDF... why did the novel have to be a PDF? Why not a nice, friendly ePub or Mobi?

That reminds me...my Kindle was broken (on accident) by my two year old this week

Gods - I remember being so very much against e-readers. Now... I own three, one old Kobo, one new Kobo, and the Kindle.

I like the Kobo better, but the Cloud for Kindle makes it the better choice. I wish that the other ebook sellers would pay attention to that.

New Kindles in a few weeks - my roommie is making the plunge then.

I have a Kindle Fire and my wife has a Kindle that I might end up confiscating (due to actually using mine regularly). For now, I will be taking a break from my book.

If I were any danged good with an airbrush, or even owned one, then yes - an airbrush can speed things up a whole lot.

I have nothing against the technique, I just have never done it enough to get any good at it.

I have used coloured primers in the same fashion, and they also work very well.

Both can be used for 'preshading' with your primers - if the critter is lighter on the underside you could use a dark primer for the topside, and a light primer for the underside. Again, a technique that I have only limited experience with, but it has worked well those few times. (Dragons.)

I know one person that 'paints' his minis with a single colour (Red=Bad Guy/Monster, Blue=PC, Grey=NPC), does a wash, does a single drybrush, and calls it good. He has been using an airbrush to do this for twenty years. (And killing a bunch of nice old Ral Partha in the process....)

So, it can be done, and done well.

The video I was looking for, on the other hand....

I am insanely jealous of Tinracer's Warhammer Undead army - I don't even like the Mortis Engine, and now I want one....

This one pushed my nostalgia button hard - Elite: Dangerous.

The Auld Grump, the original Elite had the best 3D radar that I have ever seen in a video game.

Hell On Earth Kickstarter - some nice figures, and the rules for those that want 'em.

I am still strapped from Bones (ow), and am not interested in the Savage Worlds version of the game, but I will be buying some of those miniatures for use in Fallout.

Is it just me, or does the leader's coat look sort of... brownish?

The rules are available as a free download.

This looks like something that some of the more recent TLX sets would be mighty pleased to meet.

I think I'm going to take a flyer on the $50 option - I like the style of the aliens and they can always serve as more demons/devils/weirdness.

Not gaming related, but would have been nice for my New England Horror Movie Party - Hanover House - just over the $5,000 goal.

Set in Maine and filmed in Maine - in a house that really is supposed to be haunted. (The film maker has not seen any ghosts, but he hopes....)

I like haunted house movies.

Finally grabbed vampire level Reaper kickstarter. Dropped Sophie for basic paint and Cathuru! $155. The plan is to give some as holiday presents to two nephews, my son and some of the neighbor kids that are in the game. The rest go to the big boys game. Crazy how incredible deal this is!

P.S. Anyone else finding the need to write in a lot more female NPCs? 50-ish girl sculpts!?!? I may get in trouble with the wife over these....

WotC is having eight of the miniatures removed.

They are pretty clearly under the Parody heading of 'Fair Use', but WotC has money, Impact! does not. So, away they go.

I am done with WotC. No matter how good 5e may be, I will skip it. (Fortunately, it really does not look that great at the moment - skipping it, as it is right now, is not exactly a hardship.)

After what WotC did to Dragon and Dungeon.... Glad to see something moving in to fill the gap. I love Kobold Quarterly, but it is not quite the same thing.

WotC went after a bunch of the minis kickstarters - besides that one, I also know of at least two others: Center Stage Minis and Tentacles and Eyeballs. I understand their general stance of protecting their IP, but I also believe (and IANAL) that most of their "requests" were pushing too far. And they're relying on exactly that idea: we're big and have money and lawyers - and you don't - to win.

If I wasn't already have a generally boycotting their products, I'd start now. But apart from their dungeon tiles, the quality of their products is shit anyways.
