I keep coming across things that pique my interest over at Kickstarter. I personally have funded a few things recently. Zpocalypse: (cool looking zombie boardgame that is getting great reviews) http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/gre ... board-game Shandowrun Video Game: (I posted this in a thread before) http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/161 ... s?ref=live Wasteland 2 Video Game: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/inxile/wasteland-2 I am looking forward to all three and would love to hear if you supported them or any others recently. |

I supported both Shadowrun and Wasteland 2 via PayPal. It's nice that they have the option to do so (after the project has been funded) because I, like many Europeans and other fans, don't have a credit card / Amazon.com account. It would be nice if Kickstarter somehow managed to include other countries's Amazon accounts, it would help a lot of projects and ensure that project are supported from important overseas markets. |

I bought the original $2.95 game, way back in '77. They have blown way past the $20,000 goal, and are well on their way to $250,000 - which will mean that they have enough to fill two containers, one 40' and the other 20' - just from Kickstart orders. They have a $300,000 goal, but no notice as to what that goal is yet - they are making them up as they go along. *EDIT* While typing this it passed the $250,000 mark - and it did not take me long to type this.... The box is currently expected to weigh 16 pounds.... the original did not weigh 16 ounces. 3D slide together ogres, flat counters for command posts, and vehicles. Map boards, full sized map overlays (only to Kickstart folks). A bunch of scenarios will be put up on the SJ Games website. Some of the higher level Backer positions have already sold out. I want to be interested in it. It is the #1 funded boardgame in Kickstarter history. It has a massive box and it is packed with stuff. I just doubt I will get much play out of a wargame with the crowd I game with, or am I mistaken with how the gameplay is going to be? |

It seems unlikely I will get much more than a zombie boardgame or something like Small World played at my table. We tried Battlestar Gallactica and the group didn't enjoy the level of complexity. The complexity level is what is holding me back from games like Arkham Horror (at least for now...) |

OGRE 2012 looks freakin' awesome! At 18 days to 'fully funded' I've got a week or so to throw some money at it. I 'may' till have a copy of the original 1980 pocket little black box stuck somewhere in my game stash (ahem! 'collection' [cough*cough*]) but I think I only played it a couple of times back then. I was far more interested in "Car Wars" back then, so I am excitedly enticed at Jackson's hopeful teaser for a possible CW relaunch. --- My friends and I 'supersized' up the scale of CW and played with actual Matchbox cars instead of the paper counters. This made the Arenas table-sized with 1-inch squares. We used upside down golf-tees for flags in 'capture the flags' scenarios. We shredded a few cars with pliers to create our own 3D debris (doors, tires, hoods, roofs, etc.) which were stored in a pullstring bag. Whenever a strewn 'Debris' marker was called for, out came the bag and a few pieces were pulled out at random and dropped onto the board from a few inches above. Wherever they landed was the location(s) of the new 'Debris Obstacle'. |

If it reaches the $300,000 mark then they will begin work on a computer version of the game. They are at almost $290,000 right now. I would say that chances are good.... The Auld Grump |

Hmm, the two person thing makes me unsure too. A two person game is best for me and my wife, but she has no interest in this type. I would really only get to play more than 2 player games with my group. Too bad |

Yeah, he refers to it in the video. He said that they are expensive to make because he is basically cannibalizing Trouble board games and this is his hope for finding a different way to do this. |

OGRE 2012 Designer's Edition has now cleared $350K - and still has ten days to go! (And I haven't even thrown my support into it yet - jave to wait for payday this week...). Now they have to decide on the goal for $400K - which they may well still make! This means the inclusion of a Kickstarter-exclusive (for those that pitch in now for the development) punchsheet of units! EDIT: And even more marker levels now up on the board heading towards $500K. |

Just found out about this one today. . Looks REALLY cool and could be a lot of fun and much less cutthroat than Zombies!!! but in a similar style. |

Auld Grump mentioned that above, but I will concur with the awesomeness of what it seems like it will be. I put in for $100 due to the sheer amount of bonus stuff and am very tempted to purchase a few of the optional things. |

May want to clarify some of those rewards. For example, what the heck is Delve Pack #5? |
