Anyone else looked at the Dredd miniatures Kickstarter yet? http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/199 ... -block-war I thought I had enough, but I like these minis quite a bit, especially for non-fantasy minis. Plus I've read the basic rules of the game and it seems pretty solid. (Isn't this the descendant of Gangs of MegaCity 1?) And the $150 and $300 levels come with a ridiculous amount of minis. |

Reaper is adding a reset button to their manager, so if you suddenly decide that you must add a nekkid Sophie on motorcycle*.... The Auld Grump * Pretty much any time I poke fun at this Kickstarter the Nekkid Sophie on Motorcycle is going to be the monkey.... My nekkid Sophie has become a clothed Sophie and a bottle of paint. (And then more money was added to pay for the rest of the paints in the set. And some more dragons. Oh, and that elemental looks cool....) |

is begging to be used as a plot device/prop in an early 1900's steampunk campaign. I am in for $20 to give it that opportunity. |

The Reaper paint delay is a big bummer for me. I guess I can just keep buying and painting little by little along the way. |

Heh - turns out that everyone in my group upped their pledges in the Bones Kickstarter. Generally by between $50 and $100.... The lowest was $15, mine was the most at $140. I dunno - it is the Sophie that comes with the Vampire pledge.) The Auld Grump |

I upped my original Bones Kicksarter as well, by $72 to get the 4 paint sets. I would have liked to have gotten a few more of the minis - hydra, demons, couple more dragons and others - but the wallet wouldn't let me. Auld Grump: remember our little motorbyke riding succubus is *metal* not just the plastic like the rest of the Bones series - hence the higher price. As to why it had a price: a) it had a redeemable value for those who really didin't want it - they could trade it back in for $25 credit for other stuff, b) I'm not sure, but I think you *may* have been able to buy another... don't quote me on that... [I didn't say this, I was not here...] |

Grump - you're getting your paint set? That's cool. I thought I'd read that Reaper said they were delaying all paint sets, since they had to produce some 300k extra bottles of paint. Maybe they're shipping some early after all? (I hope so, I don't really want to wait until March for it. Had I known, I probably would have ordered more minis.) |

I upped my pledge by about $50 -- for a while it was much more, but then I realized that I was buying duplicates of things that I MIGHT want another of, rather than things that I had to have. I decided that even though they would cost more, I should get one, paint it, and then decide what else I needed, even if it cost much more. I went 2xVampire, 1 of each of the add-ons, case, orcapalypse, fire it up, spectres, and 2xclockwork dragon. I think that's the list. I wanted paint, but I honestly have so much paint that I decided to just try to use it all up. Steve |

My final total was $150, I traded in my Sophie, so ended up with... Vampire x1 $100 Deathsleet x1 $10 Frost Wyrm x1 $10 Hydra x1 $15 Red Dragon x1 $10 Orcapocalypse x1 $25 NOVA x1 $5 It was a hard decision but I was finally satisfied. |

Ah - I just clicked on my pledge manager link, and I see what you copy and pasted. Mine also says my paint is "shipping soon". Not holding my breath, but I'm content to wait for it. This is what mine said: Shipping Later: Vampire x2 $200 Fire Giants x2 $20 Ebonwrath x1 $10 Frost Giants x2 $20 There Be Dragons x1 $15 Demons x2 $30 Deathsleet x1 $10 Mythos Monsters x1 $10 Red Dragon x1 $10 Spider Centaurs x2 $20 Fire Giant Warriors x2 $20 Frost Wyrm x2 $20 Jabberwock x1 $10 Deep Dwellers x2 $14 Hydra x1 $15 C'thulhu x1 $10 Kaladrax Reborn x1 $10 Orcapocalypse x1 $25 Mind Your Manors x2 $20 NOVA x2 $10 Undead Giant x1 $10 Swamp Things x1 $5 Shipping Soon: Undead Paint Set x1 $18 Starter Set 2 x1 $18 IMEF Paint Set x1 $18 I'll never paint it all, but it will look impressive. That and the 7K DDM minis I already have (repainting, one at a time). And the new Dredd minis. And the Demons and Devils. And the Eyeballs and Tentacles. And the Tidal Wave. Crap, I better stop going to Kickstarter. |

Got my copy of Rappan Athuck today.... RA pretty much sums up everything that I don't like about mega dungeons. Nevertheless, I have always liked the place. It just takes me back to the very first games I ran, in a dungeon called The Timeless Tunnels. (One of the encounters allowed the PCs to kill... me. If they got a twenty on their to hit roll I went 'Ack!' and fell face down on the table. Then I mumbled something about the world turning grey and starting to fade around the edges... the PCs then had three rounds to save the dying DM. If they failed then the world ended.) The Auld Grump, RA on the other hand has... the Dung Monster.... |

I feel like this one misses the point of Kickstarter. They are not offering anything new. They are instead just using Kickstarter as a means of marketing. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/751 ... ickstarter |

Another Kickstarter from Frog God Games - starting Christmas, 2012: Nick Logue's Razor Coast. Folks may remember this bit of RPG vaporware - great looking illos on the Sinister Adventures site, a veteran - and in my opinion, gifted - writer, and some nice dark vibes. Then SA suffered a cash crunch, and things went pear shaped, with neither Razor Coast or Ebon Shroud seeing the light of day. Other folks may remember the ill considered April Fool's joke by another publisher. (One that I have not made any purchases from since.) Well, now Frog God is preparing to make the run - What is really nice, and something that the good folks at Frog God should be admired for - they are honoring paid preorders from Sinister Adventures. If you preordered the book, and didn't request (and receive) a refund, then you will be getting your book once the Kickstarter is successful. And, as an aside, it will give folks a chance to use these minis.... Weresharks are an integral part of the setting. The Auld Grump |

You know, I remember back in the day, the varied versions of Were' people, and the oceanic varieties never made sense to me. For one, most were's are made due to a bite. Wereshark would seem to be very difficult to survive. Two, when the moon is full, what happens if you are on land? Three, unless you are running an underwater campaign where your characters are essentially merfolk, why would they ever be used. And D, as previously stated, they look like "street sharks"... |
