Kingdom Death has been at work for several years - they have been producing miniatures for the game for that time without the game itself being available.
The Puke Monster was in the updates as a link - and is available now, it is not (directly) part of the KS. Just something that they plugged because it was coming out at the same time as the KS.
But those are all figures for use in the game that the Kickstarter will fund. Not 'just for fun' - they are support for the game.
Monster is not interesting me, not at all. I do not need a board game with puke monsters.
Through the Breach comes closer - I think that I mentioned it a few pages back. I really like the multi-pose player character set. I don't know about the rules themselves - I tried to get into the skirmish game a year ago, they were discounted for a Black Friday sale. I got a mass of figures.
But the rules themselves had sold out, and I have not tried to get them since. The minis are fine though - a few have crept in to my Steampunk game.
In part it was discovering that there was no gang creation rules or XP system - I would have been grabbing it at the first opportunity had it been closer to Mordheim in that regard. I would rather create my own band than use characters that somebody else came up with.
If I were running Deadlands then I would be very happy with these figures - for Victorian England... not so much. Still nice, just not something that I need for the most part. Mind you, I may yet run another Deadlands game, using the classic rules. (I really, really do not like 'Revisited'. At all.)
I might even use them for Fallout. (Duster, mini/Gatling gun, goggles... yeah, I can see that in Fallout....
)A bigger 'problem' is that the choices seem to be either $60 (for the game all by its lonesome) or $125 (for the game and some stuff). All that I would want, off hand, is the PC figure sets. Not gonna buy the rules sight unseen. I might well buy them after seeing them in the store - but I haven't even seen Malifaux in the local stores.
This Kickstarter is a great deal if you are going to buy it anyway though. For folks that play Malifaux and also play RPGs, it is well worth jumping on.
