Hey, thought I'd share a WIP of my costume. Its being built from foam core, so my days of cardstock terrain are serving me well! Have not made any costume bits in years, so its somewhat of a learning process. Putting screen in the front holes and painting the whole thing black, then silver and rust. Also have some plumbing bits to add along the bottom on the front bits and on the back. For those that don't know, its Pyramid Head. |

Mine is a bit smaller than that...but it also looks smaller than it is because I'm 6'6". With the helmet on, I'm 7'! LOL Also, you will notice mine is flat on the front rather than pointed. This is how it appeared in the characters original appearance in Silent Hill 2 (video game). Mine will be a bit of a combination of movie and game versions with a few of my own touches. |

Couple updates. Got some detail work done. Here is the pipe on the side. And here is the back with some creepy bits. My wife also got me a nice bloody apron and we stained it with tea along with a white t-shirt. Extra creepy! |

My wife was kind enough to paint the pieces. Did a paint test and as long as both sides were painted at the same time, they did not curl. Next step is joining all the pieces together, one more layer of black to cover the tape, then silver/rust finish. Already got the bloody apron. Need to carve my great knife as well, but that should go very quick. |

HA! I've never been THAT drunk. Back to work tonight. Needs another coat of black paint and its good to go for now. Wanted to rust it, but black will work. It turned out MUCH smaller than I was hoping for and you can see my face far too well behind the mesh, but not bad for a first attempt. Learn from my mistakes and next time will be better! |

Suitably creepy. Nicely done! A few layers of mesh might do the trick on transparency. Other than that, it looks great! |

Not entirely happy with my results. I need to make the mask about 20% bigger for it to give the proper effect. The mesh just isn't working. Will have to try doubling up. May put a medium grade black grid first as well to give extra shadow and coverage. The plastic pipes on the side are godawfully heavy. Will need to replace them with cardboard. Oh well...maybe in time for the spring cons... |
