There is a snow angel in my near future. Maybe someday I will be too old to feel giddy with the first snowfall, but not yet. Not yet.  The Auld Grump, last year the first snowfall was before Hallowe'en - somebody used their Jack O'Lanterns as the heads on snowmen.... |

We are sitting in about 1/2 a foot here in NW CT. Someone more central in the state has an 11" measurement. Speaking of last year, my youngest son's birthday is the 29th of October. Last year he got snow. This year, a hurricane. We have taken to calling him the storm warden. |

We don't often get a first snowfall here in Phoenix...and sand angels aren't as fun to make. |

More on topic, we had the first rainfall in quite some time yesterday. We almost had a rainy day schedule. (We have those if there is a lot of mud...which is bound to happen with a dirt field with no drainage). |

Talae, what about putting some watered-down white glue with the sand for those sand-angels? Did that waaay back in gradeschool for art projects. Of course, depending on the size of your sculpt you might need a 5-gal bucket worth of white glue. Upside is that is is weather-degradable as future rain will dissolve it. (Not so sure of the environment-friendliness of that much glue of it in one spot, though...) ... Oh, heck, just make it a 1-1 paper sculpt! [And submit it for kitbashing - lol!] |

Throw some food coloring in and have a blast. We used to do that in a kids program I helped run. We called it "gak" and I have also seen it called "gloop." Careful with it near carpet or the coach though... |

Back on topic: We had our first snow dusting here in central Illinois yesterday morning. Temps mid-20s (Farenheit, not Celsius for our non-US friends). Day stayed cold enough that what was on my front porch was slightly slushish but still there when I got home mid afternoon. |
